It definitely is! I actually have both as test rubbers in 2.0mm on my clipper cc and must say these rubber are really great. The XVE sponge is softer than the CLT sponge, but it looks better (xiom's black carbo sponge ftw). The CLT creates more spin especially when serving due to its tackier...

I find FH topspin with the BH side is not that diffcult, but it's not very effective in my opinion. I also tried to do a BH topspin with the FH side, but it didn't really work^^ Nevertheless I have already played against someone who really used the FH side to make a BH topspin

When the ball is on your "stationary" palm, the serve already started (not at the moment you toss the ball) and in this moment the ball have to be behind the endline. And if you drag it behind the endline before you toss, your palm wasn't "stationary", isn't it?
