One thing that has been bothering me this tournament during the post-match interviews... is the host not Japanese? Because there are always meanings lost from the English to Mandarin (Lady 1), Mandarin to Japanese (Lady 1) and Japanese to English (Lady 2) to and fro translations.
Women's Team line-up is out. Again, China is sending their three most on-form players at the moment. They are ABC while Japan is XYZ.
LSW/CM vs Ishikawa/Hirano
SYS vs Ito
LSW vs Hirano
SYS vs Ishikawa
CM vs Ito
Since DN is seemingly injured and CM not performing as well as her world ranking suggests, we might see China send the winning WTTC2019 champions. SYS+WMY for doubles and LSW as first singles? A bold guess here.
Ishikawa is surprisingly unstable during WD, considering she started XD the earliest (and won the World Championship once) which should have upped her game substantially.
Well, it's always possible albeit slim considering that China has decided to send its top 3 players against USA. Amy/Lily vs CM/SYS, Wu Yue vs LSW, Lily vs SYS, Wu Yue vs CM and Amy vs LSW.
Groups =/= Quarters so Groups A and B do not mean first half (unless I'm wrong?). In the second knock-out stage, winners from Group A and B will be allocated into positions 1 and 8 (i.e. different halves). Japan will only be in the same half as China (assuming they top Group A) if they are not...
The November rankings prove that T2 makes such a whole world of difference. ZYL, WMY and DN are basically clinging onto their positions as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Malaysia to maintain their top 6 positions.
