  1. Receiving Windscreen Wiper Serve Tips

My only valuable feedback. If you find yourself hesitating and popping the ball up, and the opponent kills it every single time, then it is time for you to get aggressive with your serve return and put the pressure on the opponent. In other words, if you think it is either a side spin or side...
  2. Should i boost hurricane 3 neo 39 degree

I agree with this too. I don't see a big difference between Tempo Long and Seamoon. And once boosted, they are all pretty bouncy like for a long long time. Will I reboost here and there? Sure if I have time. I used to buy Tempo Long and use Tempo Long only from TT11. Now I buy Seamoon only...
  3. Soft rubber for backhand - Advice for attacking player

Agree. Rozena is spin insensitive (relatively). And it is fast enough for most club level players and even some league players too. It is a very popular rubber in Japan for a reason.
  4. Soft rubber for backhand - Advice for attacking player

Rozena is an under-rated rubber. Plus Butterfly actually prices it pretty well.
  5. Soft rubber for backhand - Advice for attacking player

My first vote is Rozena. Second vote is Xiom Vega Europe. Third vote is Rakza 7 soft. I would stick with Rozena.
  6. Comeback rubber recommendations?

I like Donic Persson Powerplay. It is a pretty fast 7-ply all wood. So you get the all wood feel, plus the speed. I like ESN rubber especially if you complain that Friendship is a bit slow. Forehand a bit harder. So Xiom Vega Asia. Backhand a bit softer. So Xiom Vega Europe. Xiom Vega series...
  7. Post your latest EJ purchase

Yes, just pass on the info I got from the short pips expert in my club. The gentleman said if you like spinfire, you will like Victas VO>102. He also said if you want to venture out to more traditional short pips (with wobbly effect), then the next one to try is Victas Spectol S3. Then...
  8. Short review of Glayzer 09c

I second that. When I used to use inverted on the BH side, I liked Rozena and Rakza 7 soft equally. Putting Tenergy 05 or Dignics 05 on the backhand side, the ball just flew out and I could not control it. Rozena is a fine rubber for its price. Glayzer, on the other hand, I feel is priced a bit...

I never played short pips before. I grew up playing Japanese penhold so I never developed a backhand loop. When I came back to the sport about 5 years ago after being gone for 10 years, I changed to shakehand because, well, I am not young anymore and I cannot sprint across the whole table and...
  10. What is difference between Chinese and European loop

Sometimes I get tempted to try Tenergy 05 on my forehand but honestly, my strokes are so used to Hurricane, that switch has always been a mistake! I like how I am able to loop drive a heavy back spin with Hurricane. After that, yeah, I will try to keep the rally going with more of a Euro loop...
  11. Returning to TT after 20 yrs, blade/rubber advice

Everyone plays table tennis differently. Don't listen to other people. If you like T05fx, then stick with it. What is the point of changing if you are progressing and winning? Backhand consider either Dignics 09c or Dignics 05. Glayzer is supposedly the introductory rubber to the Dignics...
  12. What is difference between Chinese and European loop

We basically agree. Now I am not sure if you really cannot perform Euro loop with Hurricane. I do that all the time after I start a rally. However, it is harder to finish the point. But pro's might be able to finish the points easier.
  13. What is difference between Chinese and European loop

I think what you are referring to, is not due to the technique but due to the rubber they use on their forehand. DHS hurricane tends to grip the ball and allows the ball to kick once it lands on the opponent's table. Butterfly and ESN rubbers are also very spinny but the arc is higher and the...

Der Materialspezialist Spinfire Purple. 1.8mm sponge. I don't think it is EJ. I am switching to short pips on my backhand side and I don't think I will be going back to inverted except to fool around here and there at the club. Or I will only use the inverted on both sides when I train my kids.
  15. What are your TT goals for 2024?

Build on my mental game. Divide the table into 1/4's and cover 1/4 with my backhand and 3/4 with my forehand. Gain more confidence on using short pips on my BH side. Use better footwork. Get my kids hooked onto ping pong. Attend another US Open if it were to be held in Southern California...
  16. A. Lebrun's blade

Felix Lebrun's blade was on TT11 earlier this week and I just checked Alexis Lebrun's blade is now available on TT11 too!!!
  17. World #90 Iba Diaw loses to Unranked Female Opponent, Calls Cheating!

I just saw her losing to Amy Wang in USA Open women's singles quarterfinal. It was close but she did not get one game out of Amy (best out of 7 so she lost 4 games straight). I don't think Amy felt threatened by the pips. Yes, the rubber is green. Lol, it cannot be Butterfly feint long ox.
  18. Which blade would be a good transition from all to off?

    I second Tibhar Stratus Powerwood
  19. Backhand rubber recommendation needed

Softer sponge is know to 1) more dwell time to give you more lift, 2) easier to control and 3) not as much spin and speed. You should start with a softer rubber on the backhand before you change it to a harder rubber. Softer rubber let you develop your feel to "lift" the ball better. Then once...
