  1. Defensive inverted rubber

Satoshi Aida is a double inverted chopper and he is using Rakza Z. I only used it in 2.3, but in 2.0 thickness it might be better for chopping. And of course Tackiness C is very uncomfortable to play against.
  2. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I know a player who was sponsored, he got a few blades from the local rep. for tryout, choose one and that's it. They were from the same batch as commercials. Another person sources/ have sourced (idk if still) rubbers through JNT because they felt much-much better than the retail ones. I guess...
  3. 2026 Emperor's/Empress's Cup (aka All Japan) Jan 20-25, Doubles Jan 29-Feb 1

Mhmm...Kenta Matsudaira needs to get into the R64 or doesn't participate this year? I don't see Kazuhiro Yoshimura, Asuka Sakai and Kizukuri Yuto either.
  4. WTT Star Contender Doha 2026 Jan 13-18

Congrats to ZQH! I hope him, LJK and some older players can still compete with the new generation and participate in WTT competitions.
  5. Why is this forum so obsessed with the Japanese women's team?

I don't follow any drama with JNT women's team, but I always root for them because: 1. They are always passionate and positive. 2. They are the ones who have a genuine chance at winning any tournament besides the chinese stars. 3. We have Sato/Hashimoto defending, S Odo with her stunning BH...
  6. WTT Star Contender Doha 2026 Jan 13-18

It's still early in the year, maybe we should start an elo style system in the forum for the wtt events. :D
  7. Does anyone buy balls from Ali Express?

I think the Joola Magic balls are very good to play with. They are light, but if you don't have to play with a given ball during league/competitions I think they are a very good option.
  8. SpinSight users post your experience and reviews

I am sure that spin and speed works together producing quality. The easiest to play against players for me are usually the people who play with (moderately) high spin + medium speed. Low speed + high spin is much harder to time well. High speed is just generally harder. If someone plays without...
  9. The five phases of a match and how do you train or are used to be trained?

I don't like to overcomplicate things: a significant portion of the training goes from open ups and a significant portion is random drills. Otherwise I like to touch every part of the game at least for 5 mins every session and close the session with a match or two. If I would train more...
  10. Xiom new collection (2026)

ABsolutely, I was tempted to buy a xiom blade for more more money (than the alternative) just because of the design
  11. Modern high arc/throw tensor or hybrid rubbers

Rakza Z (at least the normal hardness one) in my experience is less dynamic than the G-1 and doesn't bring any advantage, wouldn't switch to that.
  12. Next blade recommendations after my nittaku acoustic

You're probably above 2000 then, based on videos of USATT players I've seen (maybe 2100ish?). I am not an expert on blades, but Viscaria is the best bang for your buck amongst Butterfly blades. I don't think your level would limit what blade you can play with, try out your clubmates setups and...
  13. Next blade recommendations after my nittaku acoustic

I think 2000 would be around BP/1B or Megye A, but I am not sure either. What league are you playing?
  14. Opinions on setup

It's hard to give advice without knowing someone's playing level and style. Fastarc G-1 is a rubber which grips the ball very well, isn't soft but isn't too hard either, it has enough speed but not too fast....if you would ask the forum members 95% of them would say it's a good (if not the best)...
  15. Thread about Japanese Players

I know a player who has been coached by Qiu Jianxin and ever her BH improved so much...I am not even sure if there is anyone who has a stronger bh counter in her age group.
  16. thoughts on Fastarc G1

Mine curled when I had them. I think it's truly the best balanced rubber out there. I wish V>20DE would be more durable because it's also similarly linear and easy to use but more dangerous.
  17. Technique correction - Trying to Fix my FH backstroke + hitting through the sponge

I watched quite a lot from the video. For me it still seems like your FH form is quite good, sometimes just the shots need more spin, more arc. I've seen misses when you had to move but mostly when dealing with more dead balls, then you sometimes tried to attack them with your usual fast and low...
  18. Technique correction - Trying to Fix my FH backstroke + hitting through the sponge

Didn't read through all the replies, but I've seen other mentioning what I think as well: your FH stroke is not bad at all. Don't bother focusing on elbow, wrist etc. Try to fix your footwork, that seems to be the no.1 issue with your play. Keep your center of gravity down and forward, you're...
  19. Contact point on BH

Okay, I could finally made it to training. I've successfully managed to hide my hand with a ball bowl in the first half of the video 🫣 I want to add as a context, our club just got new tables and this was our first time playing on it...and we are not happy about the change, that's why both of us...
