I think it's the equipment, in particular most Europeans are using hybrid rubbers now. I don't remember Simon Gauzy playing this good when using the Rasanter R53 for example. Truls apparently used a new rubber, STIGA Helix Platinum according to a post by Stiga on Facebook.

I just tried PK50 as BH and I really liked it. Going back to OP's request, for me Xiom Vega Euro H could be a candidate, I think it's a bit slower than PK50. It's also sold as 45 degree of hardness but it feels a bit harder than that.

The problem is the new H3s, they have a harder and not so sticky top-sheet. IMO I'm not so sure I like them better than a European hybrid.

Definitely G1 is more controllable, R45 is bouncier. G1 is linear, but it's harder so if you're going to use on BH you might need to adjust to that. After using R45 I reached the conclusion that thin top sheet rubbers are not for me.
