  1. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Thanks. Actually, never played with the Donic Persson, it’s just my backup, that I got from a friend for 10 bucks. But you still think, better to use a slower blade than slower rubbers? I come from using a Donic Smirnov Inner Carbon before. I mean, I could just swap one Vega X with the Omega...
  2. Modern high arc/throw tensor or hybrid rubbers

Interesting. Po Interesting thanks. Just posted in another thread my issues with having a somewhat fast/spinny/uncrontrolled setup after my wife gifting me a new blade and rubbers. Have the Omega VII Europe on my backup blade though, so thinking about slamming that on my BH and getting Fastarc...
  3. Modern high arc/throw tensor or hybrid rubbers

What thicknesses of the Nittakus did you play? Thinking about switching to these. If going back, would you still play C-1 on BH, or G-1 on both sides?
  4. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

So, after playing with this setup for about a month, I think I need to downgrade the rubbers slightly. I went to the store with my blade, intending to buy Fastarc G-1 in 1.8 mm on both sides, with Vega X as a backup option. The seller, who felt very competent and actually listened, steered me...
  5. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

So guys, I thought it appropriate to report back to you after all your amazing support. It did not turn out exactly as planned, and I will need your help again. First though, here some pics of the setup. My issues in the next post.
  6. Best all wood blade?

Thank you for the interesting list — much appreciated. If you wouldn’t mind, I’d love for you to elaborate on what makes the CS Wood land on this list and stand out for you, and how you feel it compares to the Nittaku Acoustic and the Butterfly Korbel/Falcima in terms of speed, dwell/kick...
  7. Best Handle and Shape but MK Carbon too fast 😞 Help

Seconding: Xiom Hugo HAL, extremely similar and not so fast, still highly controllable.
  8. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

That easy, heh? :) So your recommendation is any ESN in 2,0–2,1mm on both sides. Vega Pro, Vega X, Fastarc G-1, Mantra Pro M — etc, all good? I like the concept of identical sides, but could you please elaborate on your reasoning still?
  9. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

I meant rather how C-1 compares to Vega Europe/Rakza 7/7 Soft, as a BH-alternatuve – hopefully less bouncy (and maybe more spinney/grippy)
  10. Vintage Persson Powerplay - worth use?

What a coincident! This very evening, my club’s coach gifted me (ok, 10 bucks, but that’s just charity) his old Donic Persson Powerplay – fitted with Yasaka Mark V and Butterfly Tenergy05 Hard. Very nice to have as backup and rubber-tester.
  11. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Thanks again for you unrelenting help! That sounds very sound, will probably go for something like that. Hybrid MK wasn’t discussed yet, but is said to be very very controlled, however not very long lasting(?) Will ask my shop and also consider Vega Pro H as an alternative, supposed to last...
  12. Xiom Hugo Hal from a perspective of a Butterfly ALC User

Ok, sounds very fair. My BH is of course also weaker than FH so far. I am leaning against FH: Xiom Vega X and BH: Vega Europe/Rakza Z/Vega Japan. Don’t want it too catapultt though. And 'cause I’m not that offensive (yet), I’ll start with 2,0 mm.
  13. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

General question: Is there any reason to start thicker than 1,8mm? Or rather go for 2,0 mm for starters?
  14. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

You mean, there is no objective truth in answer to my question? :) Seriously though, you have turned out to be a great help to all my inquiries the last couple of weeks. Big thanks!
  15. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Ok Guys, this took another turn, and I ended up ordering a used Xiom Hugo HAL yesterday. Used for 30 minutes, glued once, and unsealed. Now I just hope for the best that it is all in that state and that it arrives safely!!! This maybe changes my question a bit on a specific level, but not the...
  16. Xiom Hugo Hal from a perspective of a Butterfly ALC User

So the Vega Korea on BH, because it is softer than Fastarc? I am right now dwelling upon if the best for learning (the game, as well as the blade) is to use identical rubbers (or at least identical top sheets) on FH/BH, or if it is better to find the best for FH and BH separately, leaning...
  17. Xiom Hugo Hal from a perspective of a Butterfly ALC User

Ok, Guys, thank you for all the help. I purchased a used Hugo HAL yesterday, it’s on its way – pray for the best!!! Now just one question, this blade is unsealed . Glued once with Butterfly Chack II and allegedly used only for 30 minutes. My local seller told me there is no real need to seal...
  18. Xiom Hugo Hal from a perspective of a Butterfly ALC User

How do you like the Vega Pro H specifically? I’m thinking of buying HAL and putting this Pro H on my FH, and Vega X on BH. (Or Rakza Z on FH).
  19. New Cybershape from STIGA

Good info. Curious what you find better with Nittaku (is it the all-wood version? – both in regards to CS Wood, but primarily compared to Nittaku? (Acoustic seems to be a smooth operatior for sure.)
