  1. 09c sponge better than Dignics 05 sponge?

I’ve played with both of these quite a lot recently and have to agree with NDH. 05 is much livelier and faster in every respect with similar shots, to the extent that, unless on a slower 5 ply blade, I can’t contemplate using it. On my Viscaria I can safely play 09c but definitely not 05, which...
  2. Backhand Rubber suggestions

    So sorry - yes!!!
  3. Backhand Rubber suggestions

Another vote for R47 or C47 - both great BH rubbers in my opinion.
  4. Backhand flip advice

Thanks IB66 - appreciate the feedback and observations. I hadn't noticed that but can see you are right - I tend towards the right side of my body to try and get more angle on the wrist / blade and therefore more purchase on the ball - maybe it's too far across!
  5. Backhand flip advice

Hi all So I recorded some footage of me flicking vs robot set up to serve at me - first side/back (reverse pendulum) and then at around 1min in vs side back (pendulum) The second serve was a fair bit shorter and so much harder to get to and flick. Both serves were very spinny and so the...
  6. Backhand flip advice

Thank you - that's super helpful! I definitely tend to be open on BH and stepping in with the right foot seems to make it worse. I wish I could slow my robot further but this is the slowest repeat - I would love more time to reset. Likewise - no random on this thing except a pan of the head...
  7. Backhand flip advice

I played balls both down the line and cross table (if I cut out the cross table it was an editing error!)

Thanks Lula - 100% on the flick vs topspin. I was just trying to set a ball that I could get back with relative ease but I know I wouldn't be flicking this ball in a match. I have been practicing vs back and sidespin since then (much harder) Topspin - I have been focusing on left leg start...
  9. Backhand flip advice

I did manage to set up the robot to bounce both sides and offer a heavy back, then side spin service - very challenging to flick so maybe need to dial back spin levels.
  10. Backhand flip advice

Did that this afternoon. First a heavy underspin short serve which was very challenging and then heavy side spin which was also very tough!
  11. Backhand flip advice

    Here’s a video of me practicing it along with BH topspin - any feedback very welcome;
  12. Video Footage Safe Thread

Hi all inposted a thread recently about BH flick advice and got some useful pointers. Below is a video of me practicing it along with BH topspin - I’d love your thoughts on how I can improve either shot.
  13. Andro rasanter c series

The more I play C48 I think it plays quite similar to D80 that I have on my other blade. D80 a little harder and less bouncy, but to me they seem of a similar ilk. Any others noticed this? Not sure at this stage which I prefer - I get a little more bite and spin with D80 but like the energy and...
  14. Backhand flip advice

Hey LD7 - that’s a great shame, I’d have liked that! Those are good tips - I’ll certainly remember those, thanks.
  15. Backhand flip advice

    Nice - thanks :-)
  16. Nittaku Violin vs Nittaku Violin Inner Carbon

Totally understand - I look for lightly used rubber on eBay for that purpose. I’ll let you know how the Virtuoso plays!
  17. Backhand flip advice

Thanks - got it. I’ll look out for that video.
  18. Nittaku Violin vs Nittaku Violin Inner Carbon

Good questions. My thoughts are that the base blade weight will have an impact - key being where the weight is located (in this case being the blade vs rubber) No doubt heavier overall will impact speed but I think blade weight is significant. if it was me I would match rubbers as closely as I...
  19. Nittaku Violin vs Nittaku Violin Inner Carbon

What I meant was 87 vs 84g blade weight - regardless of total weight this will impact feel. Secondly one is carbon inner vs one all wood = different blades.
