  1. How to train with bad players

There are a few things you can do: 1) Serve underspin, have them push long then you try to annihilate the ball. If they return it, you loop cross court. 2) Serve underspin, have them push long then you vary your loop. Vary when you contact the ball (when its rising, dropping, etc) and vary...
  2. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

LJK is rock solid. Whenever things look hopeless, he finds a way to win. Congrats China!
  3. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

WAY TO GO LJK! Coming back from 11-3 then 11-1 shows a level of mental toughness that is impressive!
  4. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

One thing the Chinese do well is change the arc and speed of the ball. This seems to be helping LJK. When he just bangs with Alex it doesn't seem to work well.
  5. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

Both of Flavien's parents were professional players, Same with Harimoto. At least one parent of Matsushima and Lebrun were also professional that I know of. The new model outside of China seems to be start training at a very young age (2-4) with a world class hitting partner (mom, dad, uncle)...
  6. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

Hugo looked very off. Everything went long on his forehand.
  7. New rule to invalidate the ghost serve.

Maybe only have the rule applicable for para and youth events? Maybe u-13? For regular play this rule is definitely unenforceable.
  8. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

My sincerest apologies. I did not know Lily was injured. I never listen to the commentating when I watch the matches. If Lily is indeed hurt, then maybe playing 1 match wasn't such a bad idea after all. If Lily is healthy however, there is zero chance she is not playing two matches with...
  9. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

Where is Amy Wang? Why didn't Lily play 2? IMHO Lily is by far the strongest player on Team USA.
  10. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

As far as LSD losing weight, I am not sure it would help. There have been a few high profile TT players who were forced to lose weight and they played worse. The coaches then decided to let them play at whatever weight was natural. I won't out anyone but maybe people can guess who they are.
  11. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

I was wrong in my prediction. Congrats Portland!
  12. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

I can't confirm or deny that FZD or someone who looks exactly like FZD is at the venue...
  13. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

If I had to guess right now, Carolina.
  14. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

Insane illegal toss then completely hide the ball contact with your head. Lets go Lebesson! Seriously, why even have service rules in the first place?
  15. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

With the way Lebesson serves, why even have service rules at all?
  16. How to qualify for bundesliga divisions 1 or 2

I am pretty sure there are people around here who know a bit about what MLTT is paying. I am also pretty sure they have been asked not to talk about it publicly. :)
  17. My new training schedule

Every single professional player (on a province team or the CNT) in China practices their serve for 1 hour either every day or 6 days a week. Have whomever is your head coach to design drills to do with the robot that compliment whatever you are working on in the evenings. 23 hours a week is...
  18. Is it about equipment or playing style?!!!

The absolute #1 thing to determine how good a player will be is how young they can start with good practice partners and coaches. Look at the LeBrun brothers, the Harimotos, the Matsushimas, etc. They all had family members who could train and coach them from a very young age. There are...
