    The top layer is koto, the layer underneath is carbon. I’ve sealed it but it splintered regardless and I don’t want it to splinter more.

    I reviewed it somewhere before and yes, the finishing is terrible and you need to seal it heavily because it started splintering after the first rubber change despite being sealed

    Btw, it’s not clear from your post but if the coach or the club you play at wants to sell you those new butterfly rubbers then it’s a major red flag. Even if not, I’d get a second opinion from another coach, preferably from another club

    If you really want a super ALC I’d rather go with Fan Zhendong SALC, the 2 are supposed to be similar but Fan SALC feels safer and better for Chinese rubbers. In my area in Central Europe it also has a better resell value cause I have never seen anybody trying to sell a second hand Fan SALC...
