  1. ITTF Korean Open 2019

    “Easily”? Seriously?
  2. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

We lost the cup QF narrowly to a strong opponent. I couldn’t play due to residual injury after some weird foot cramp during warmup, which makes it a bitter loss. Drat.
  3. Guitar Lemon Oil for Blade Handle Color Restoration?

Well, the way to apply it as I understand it to use a soft cloth, lightly impregnated. Let it soak in and dry for a few days, than polish the wood with very finegrained sandpaper. Repeat a couple of times. At some point that should result in a deep sheen, with the wood colour coming out...
  4. Guitar Lemon Oil for Blade Handle Color Restoration?

I think pretty much any oil will work, but some may smell better than others if you're fussy about that. People often use linseed oil for wood rejuvenation, and it works but isn't very shiny. Tung oil is great, if you can get it. I think my blade was finished using Danish oil, which I think...
  5. Viscaria-Innerforce?

I find that hard to believe, looking at pictures of that blade (and of the CO version, which is supposed to be a straight Viscaria type blade). It really looks like koto to me. Another blade that comes close is the Kinetic CF Carbon Off-. It's an inner type composite with a kiri core and koto...
  6. Tenergy 80 vs Dignics 05

What Rid just said. Also, T80 is remarkably deadish in passive play (not quite in the Chinese tacky arena, but still, deadish) yet very explosive when activating it — with a lower throw, lower dwell, flatter trajectory than T05. Producing spin is very, very different. I can serve spinny with...
  7. BH for Timo Boll ALC

Well, I certainly prefer playing one or two notches under max, and in my experience there's no single best solution for all playing styles and all personal preferences. Yes, for Werner Schlager, Ma Long, Zhang Jike, Wang Liqin, Kong Linghui, Timo Boll, Vladimir Samsonov max thickness is...
  8. BH for Timo Boll ALC

I wouldn’t know rubbers that rival/outperform tenergy ánd are more durable at a lower pricepoint. Vega Pro comes close to, but does not eclipse, T05, and lasts well. In some aspects MX-P outperforms T05 — for a couple of hours. Rozena comes close, but not at the extreme ends of the scales of...
  9. BH for Timo Boll ALC

Can’t speak for others, but R7 is harder and more energetic than T05fx, with plenty of power at 2.0 already not ever to bottom out. Unless maybe at the highest level.
  10. BH for Timo Boll ALC

Would you say FAG1 is faster than R7? I sort of had hoped it is not.
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Good for you, JeffM. Match experience is a thing in itself!
  12. Create your own blade.

    It it’s thin’ you’re in. If it’s thick, you’re nick’d.
  13. BH for Timo Boll ALC

Rakza 7 soft is used by many for exactly this.
  14. Giving away ideas

We might distribute the effort to combat logistics. I’ve already been collecting equipment to make stuff that would otherwise get thrown out or collect dust in a storage box available to the inprivileged, for whom any expense is a significsnt barrier. That’s an isolated, and hence limited and...
  15. A disgraceful act.

I agree, and more generally disapprove of destroying goods and letting things go to waste intentionally. If only because there’s only one world, which we’re depleting at an insane pace already.
  16. A disgraceful act.

Well, the point would be that this is creating value. Much like the owner of the last three Stradivarius violins might choose to destroy two to make the last remaining one nearly infinitely valued - “priceless”. The essence or the matter being there’s worth and there’s value. The value of food...
  17. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05 | With Timo Boll

It’s nigh impossible not to love this. The boyish enthusiasm, the fun they’re having, the banter, the play. Ultralikable. Looking forward to the Bluegrip V1 v. Tenergy 09C review! [emoji41]
  18. A disgraceful act.

… instead of fighting the powers that be, we’re whipped to go at each others’ throats. The usual agenda.
  19. What is your favourite brand?

That’s actually a different company by the same name and logo, I believe. At some time in the past there was a fork.
  20. A disgraceful act.

Capitalism is funded infueling scarcity by limiting supply and fanning (often baseless) demand. Planned obsolescence is part of that, wanton destruction another. And this is how we keep food from the starving while also letting kilotons go to waste.
