  1. TTX New ITTF Sport variation

And then there's silly old me, thinking people engage in activities because they actually like doing them — and considering that a good thing.

    6. When unable/insufficiently confident to put real pressure on the opponent, or not in full control over placement, aim for the crossover point (somewhere near the middle). This basically is just a ploy to keep the ball in play without giving the opponent an immediate scoring opportunity. It...
  3. Marvellous 12 2019

Tit for tat will get you only so far, and in the end whataboutism is nothing but a simple fallacy. I lived near a less well to do suburb, one day. In some areas, it wasn't entirely uncommon for people just to toss their waste out of their windows. Their excuse would typically be that their...
  4. Sanding instead of sealing?

Yes, seal AND sand. In my (not unlimited) experience the sealing process roughens up the surface a bit, so I usually apply a very thin layer of sealant, let it dry a day or so and then very gently polish it up with a (very) finegrained sandpaper.
  5. 9 year old rubbers

This is a picture of, probably, my second blade (Tibhar Tibor). I played with it about 35 years ago, around 1981-1982 roughly. The Sriver L on it and the Friendhip 729 still play very well. Spinny, elastic, and the 729 is still very tacky. Not sure which one I used on FH and which on BH...
  6. TTX New ITTF Sport variation

    Refreshing, this.
  7. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

Well, the West is due a good and proper shafting, after shafting the rest for roughly the last two milennia. Actually, a little extra Butterfly tax won’t hurt the fat cats all that much, will it? Ok, ok, stereotype funtime is now over! Couldn’t resist. Sorry.
  8. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

W00t, $79.99 for a second rate has been rubber? :-) Better shell out that relatively small extra #pops for the real thing, then. Pretty happy with my Rozena, durability (for me) better than expected. Yes, brittle and prone to tear upon mishaps. Hope I'll be able to keep avoiding these.
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

My first coach, over 70 now probably, is still active, though a long way away. I do my best and train hard, and have a few other players sharing focus and keeping each one another on our toes. Every now and then I meet up with my old coach of four decades ago. He’ll be quiet for a few...
  10. Where can I buy Table Tennis 'skin tight' under shorts?

Oh, frame away. I gave criticism, which by no means I’m in any way emotionally involved. That does not matter. In you or anybody wants to play im a niqaab, a diver’s suit or ALL SPANDEX, I don’t care. If you’re reinforcing the stereotypical notion of a body that must be covered extensively to...
  11. Where can I buy Table Tennis 'skin tight' under shorts?

I’m not upset, but don’t think you realize how that works. (Your sister so fat. No, joking! No harm, right? Didn’t think so.) Take that other remark into account, about hurting the eyes of the viewers. Disturbing, to me, if that’s the first thing to mind when seeing a picture of a great...
  12. Where can I buy Table Tennis 'skin tight' under shorts?

Oh, grow up. He has legs, like nearly all humans, those excepted being unfortunate. Sorry, but I have no patience for modern day body shaming, whether in the form of extremist puritanism or otherwise.
  13. Where can I buy Table Tennis 'skin tight' under shorts?

The question, I think, should rather be: what gives you comfort, support, and freedom of movement? Me, I’m all for Saive type shorts. Need to feel unrestrained. I know the trends have gone the other way, but that’s it for me. And that’s pretty much all I care about.
  14. Real Life vs Revspin the biggest dissapointment of equipment

It’s nothing but a marketing term?
  15. old Stiga Ulf Tickan Carlsson /the same like stiga alser with tickan carlsson handl/

This I know, you ole Joker you. Holding breath.
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Wow, Matsushima refused a point unjustly rewarded to him by the referee. Mature and fair. And what a fluid BH-FH transition!
  17. Marvellous 12 2019

Probably all true, but in the end it's was ZJK who chose to walk away. He didn't have to, and could have "manned up", to use that sexist phrase, stepped over the insult/injustice/hurt pride, and showed his greatness by showing up at the table without allowing these shenanigans to mess with his...
  18. Marvellous 12 2019

ZJK’s final stand on the world stage was fierce and he jussed missed emerging victoriously by a hair in Japan, in unfriendly territory. Much respect there. The followup tournament, with the muddled unilateral withdrawal excused by pointing to a dissatisfactory draw, and accusations of...
  19. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

    No, it’s pronounced ‘Tenergier’.
