My Rozena's holding out just fine after 4+ months of play. A teammate of mine has been using R7 for over a year. BH. The part where he rests fingers on the rubber has become quite different from the rest of the surface, but still he seems to have no trouble playing it.
TT can be disheartening every now and then. I know, having let frustration get the upper hand when a period of stagnation and setbacks followed stretches of rapid development.
Took me nearly 30 years to let go and find the joy of it back. Hope you’re better than me in moving on and recovering...
She’s still very young, and growing up is not a process of monotonic increases Neither physically nor mentally. It’s a turmoil at times, and unpredictable too.
This goes for all. I don’t expect an ininterrupted curve upwards for Harimoto, and Mima Ito has also suffered through lesser times...
Mantra M is slightly faster than Rozena, and is a good rubber once you get in charge over it. Excellent for active play at or near the table, a bit more dangerous and a bit harder to handle than Rozena.
Hope I gave no offense by my “masking a weakness” remark…
I am actually very grateful to the LP/SP/anti players I practice with, and enjoy that a lot. It’s challenging, and I think it forced me to improve my observation skills in pace change and spin reading.
And yes, I suspect I fall prey to...
To me it seems that LP, SP and anti players often chose for that to mask a weakness.
The material itself comes with its limits. Whenever encountering a player with such a rubber, I tell myself this and try to find the weaknesses imposed by material and the underlying issue.
Against LP...
Both are much, much faster, and bouncier to boot, than Sriver, and Sriver FX is way slower than Sriver. Both are excellent, but would be giant leaps. I'm with Der here, be cautious and do try a bunch of stuff to see what fits and what pleases.
It is more expensive over here (50%), and harder to get. But as I hold both Vega Pro and Rakza 7 ( (though too much to handle for me when I tried it) in high esteem, I’m taking your word for it and have added it to my internal TT equipment bucket list.
You play with it on fastish blades with...
I hit about 10hrs/week with intensity, and a couple of hours to boot in a more leisurely fashion. After play I clean my rubbers, and store away my blade in a closed case, in-house where it's not to cold (or hot) and not too dry or humid.
With ESN rubbers I usually notice a bit of degradation...
Of course it should be boosted. It's a hard rubber, so you need to soften it up.
You should sandpaper the surface as well, to modify the spin level to your individual needs.
This goes without a saying. It is self-evident that no mass-produced product fits your unique needs exactly.
I think I mentioned a few things about Rozena en and Nimbus Delta S yesterday. Rakza 7 (used by quite a few over here) is harder than both, and I'd say slightly faster than Rozena. R7 is spinnier than Rozena, probably also a tad more than NDS.
Those playing with it that play 2-4 times a week...
Well, having been burnt once and having thrown out a gross of them, I had my reasons to find something else. I found my alternative in the Stiga Perform 40+ threestar. Not much costlier, and the first few hundred were all OK. Less worries, so sticking to them.
You mean the Nimbus Delta S and Nimbus Delta V? I think a youth player uses Nimbus Delta S on FH, and I've hit a few balls with it (and I've been playing Rozena for over half a year now).
Nimbus Delta S is softer than Rozena. I think they are comparable in speed. Rozena is less...
Played a veteran's tournament yesterday. There were a few setbacks recently; my old neck hernia acted up again, whiplashed calves ditto, and an attack by stray dogs that deeply tore into my quadriceps. So play suffered for a few months. But last week was a good week, which made me eager to...
I start to wonder whatever misdeed Kazumi I. performed against Zeio, to such an extent that Z seems to cannot stop to unload on KI, whether called for or not, and often in the context of a match in which KI didn't even partake.
I'm with Mother Mary here. Let it be and all that. Or...
