  1. Bulgaria Open 2018

Yes, I believe it's quite customary to warn first before penalizing. Were there such warnings?
  2. XIOM OMEGA VII Asia

    Including reliability over time, durability?
  3. How many left handed ping pong players are here?

I'm a native lefthander, but righthandedness was forcefully bestowed onto me in primary school. Lefthandedness was unacceptable back then. I learned myself to play righthanded shakehand as well, but can more or less get by playing lefthanded. When playing lefthanded, the backhand snaps easier...
  4. Blade for beginner to develop technique

The Yasaka Sweden Classic is just what you need at the stage you describe. H3 is a good rubber, but it is rather slow. The Sweden Classic is a rather slow allround blade, in combination with H3 you will have to work very hard to get pressure on your hits. If that is what you want, go for it...
  5. XIOM OMEGA VII Asia

Is Omega VII Asia actually that much cheaper? Web shops over here offer it for €57,90. That money will just about get you a slab of Tenergy as well.
  6. Just started playing again :)

Hi Christian, welcome back to the game and to the forum. When I took up playing after a long hiatus, my mantra was: consistency > placement > speed/spin. I started out on basic consistency exercises, and when basic stroke was back in form started on patterns-based movement/footwork drills...
  7. Allwood = outdated?

"Pretty much" still leaves out a substantial number of pro players. Off the top of my head: Gauzy, Samsonov, and didn't Shibaev also use an all-wood, albeit a 7-ply one?
  8. New brand!!! Tmount

Is this the Tmount of https://tabletennismount.com/, apparently a South-African TT equipment manufacterer/seller?
  9. Tibhar blades and Rubber combination

Of all the Tibhar blades I ever held and hit with, the Tibhar Inca stands out. It's quite fast, will work with a looping style rather than a flat hitting style, and is a great blade (built by Nexy, I believe) if you can master it. Within the realm of Tibhar, I'd couple it with Evolution EL-S...
  10. LGL,No.1 Commentator in the universe!Updating his Comment on the matches.

These comments of LGL on Koki Niwa, harsh though they sound, also are honest and trutfhul. Harsh, but not mean. The comments on Xu Xin were also quite unforgiving, I thought - but true. Truth matters.
  11. Asia-Euro Cup 2018, Aug 4-5, 2018

That's not what I noticed, although that sounds like a nice theory. Or not entirely; it was actually mostly the european players missing the ball entirely very often, especially on the first day, that triggered my curiosity. Maybe the two-colored ball is more familiar to the asian players?
  12. Asia-Euro Cup 2018, Aug 4-5, 2018

When viewing the first days' matches, I thought there was an amazing number of unforced errors, seemingly due to mistiming, and when pondering a possible cause that ball did come to mind. Maybe not, but I am not used to seeing that many sheer total mishits at that level.
  13. For all those who have used Timo Boll ZLF I need your advice.

You sure you’re not thinking about the Treiber Z? That’s a zylon carbon blade with Hinoki outers, iirc, whereas the H is, I think, a fiberglass non-Hinoki blade.
  14. ITTF Legends Tour 2018 | Line Up, Training, Backstage and more !

Jean-Mi is moving very well in these long, long pants!
  15. Korea Open 2018

    Exactly.
  16. Korea Open 2018

I think this fallacy should be called Proof by Incident. One sheep is black, therefore all sheep must be. Aristotle pointed this one out already.
  17. Name your favorite female ping pong players

Olga Nemes, if only for sheer tenacity. Smart patternbreaking game, nemesis to many of the greats.
  18. Looking for Andro blade reviews

I have no extensive review to offer, but a highly talented club member (who's not entirely EJ-virusresistant) has settled on the Ligna Off for quite a while now. I've played with it as well. It's a very powerful and controlled blade. I'd say it is about as powerful as the Treiber K (BTY TB...
  19. Seeking advice for replacing backhand Rasanter R42

A slower blade might be an option, but you can also go for something softer/slower than R42, perhaps even with a thinner sponge. My €.02 would be: 1) Consider using a slower blade 2) Consider a thinner-sponged R42 3) Consider a softer rubber, i.e. Rasanter R37 4) Sidestep and consider an...
  20. Dragutin Surbek 1946-2018

Thank you Baal. I have had the privilege of seeing Šurbek play a tournament. I’ve seen him wet-glue his slabs of Sriver before matches and strongly recall the scent. I don’t think he won that particular tournament, but the one most vivid impression from these matches against Sécretin...
