  1. Game after a long break

Strange. That a post of mine, months ago.
  2. Target Pro Gt Cornilleau

Using it on BH, but I've used it with slightly thicker sponge on FH as well and am considering to go back to it after my current T05 wears out. T05 has a slight edge over FT48 in spin-based play, but FT48 trumps T05 in blocks, counters, drives and smashes.
  3. Target Pro Gt Cornilleau

I have yet to meet a GEWO rubber that I didn't think had plenty good things to offer. That got me searching, and indeed, the Nexxus EL Pro 43 and 48 look promising. But I also stumbled upon a new series called Neoflexx eFT, sweetly priced.
  4. Target Pro Gt Cornilleau

It is. I first started playing it on a Treiber K blade, very fast and rather stiff. Excellent combo. I have yet to get a taste of the Hype series. Reviews suggest strenghts, but not the versatility that FT48 has; but that’s hearsay, of course.
  5. Target Pro Gt Cornilleau

Nanoflex FT at hardness 48 is second to none imho. Exceptionally versatile and well-balanced. And at 40, it’s less powerful but oh so helpful in developing the full arsenal of techniques.
  6. Intro to tensors?

+2 for Vega Intro. And after Intro has bridged the gap: Vega Pro. No need to look beyond that for now.
  7. WTTC to Become More Bloated

"Bloated" is a pejorative. I don't necessarily agree. The differences near the top are slight and subtle, and one of the things that can create excitement is when an until then relatively lesser known player exceeds expectations, and causes some upsets. That is more likely to happen, or...
  8. Tomokazu Harimoto breaks into the Top 10 World Rankings!

Strange that these data seem to be not easily available. A visualisation of that dataset of player results, perhaps using a sliding time window, does not look that hard.
  9. ITTF Legends Tour 2018 | Line Up, Training, Backstage and more !

Ooh, that's roughly a 2-hour drive away. Entirely doable. Sadly, coming friday I'll have to work and then play for the cup (goal: getting my team qualified!) that day. Is it always in Waremme?
  10. ITTF Legends Tour 2018 | Line Up, Training, Backstage and more !

Exciting. Is this an event one might be able to attend? If so, where, when?
  11. Nittaku Tornado King Power/Speed

That Nittaku Tornado King Power has the same composition as the DHS Long 5 National/N301, a 7 ply "inner layer" carbon style frame, Koto/Ayous/ALC/Ayous/ALC/Ayous/Koto. It is thinner, though, with the DHS blade at 6.0 and the Nittaku at 5.8mm. That will make a difference, even if glueing, wood...
  12. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

More freedom in placement. Parallels and diagonals both can be reached in that stance with that serve, both long and short.
  13. Tomokazu Harimoto breaks into the Top 10 World Rankings!

Omar Assar is remarkable, steady at 17. Also: Calderano’s steady march forward, and the unbuckling resilience of Vladimir Samsonov. Ding Ning on the decline is also noteworthy. She lost to an outstanding Soo recently, but all appearences I’ve seen I thought her solid regardless. And I expected...
  14. Best glues - Water Based or Latex Based

This is true. Spores matter, they do. Of the glues I've used, I liked the Andro Turbo Fix the best, followed by the Gewo Hydro. These are (or at least mine were) not too thick/viscose, so I could lay a thin, evenly distributed layer more easily.
  15. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

I sat there watching between swarms of banshees (so my ears told me) as ZJK got it handed to him on a silver platter by Lee Sangsu (IIRC), last year in Düsseldorf. That didn't show too much unretirement promise, sadly, even though even to see him play at all, even when not dominating, was a...
  16. ITTF President vs TableTennisDaily's Dan!

I liked the control and smarts in his game. And all that without being able to move, due to those special national factory-boosted shoes that sadly hadn't broken in yet to reveal their total and utter magnificence! Would like to see a three-way tournament: Dan, Thomas W. and Jean-Mi S. Ah...
  17. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

That by itself is an astounding fact. I've come late to reading this and know in the end Xu Xin overcame Patrick Franziska anyway, but here's the thing. When I returned to and recovered my game, there were a lot of opponents I couldn't touch, that seemed invincible to me. But once precisely...
  18. A few words of advice to be a commentator

I haven’t been able to see/listen to the saturday matches, but on previous days I was actually positively impressed by Adam. Acute, relevant remarks at the technical and tactical level providing useful insights every now and then. And now I’m reading the oposite about yesterday. Off-day?
  19. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

That would be the great defender Jill Parker, formerly named Jill Hammersley.
  20. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

    Seriously?
