  1. Australian Open 2018

I don't know if it's just my observation. I notice in the past, China just had the same coach Liu Guoliang going flying with the same team around the world. These days a different coach is there for almost every tournament. I wonder if this new system affects how Chinese players perform...
  2. JPen Advice

Rorin is a good blade. Not as fast but good touch. Otherwise try Darker Speed 70 http://tt-japan.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_7&products_id=923 Darker's JPen is among the best in the world. Their top tier Speed 90 is out of stock. I have two Speed 90 for collection. Their...
  3. Australian Open 2018

Xu Xin is doing poorly. Even he won but he's slow. FH loop is short and response is late. Passionate about TT
  4. Australian Open 2018

https://youtu.be/DIOFY-x_580 Very high level of performance. Feel like two penholders power looping each other with FH in the old days. Amazing footwork for both. It's such a rare match these days. Much more entertaining than BH to BH block that happens a lot in men's game. I reckon both are...
  5. Xu Xin's Equipment

Wondering why XX is back to all wood blade given the fact that the ball is slower? Passionate about TT
  6. Korea Open 2018

Liang Jingkun, Lin Gaoyuan and Fan Zhendong are the young stars. FZD is the most consistent with a tough mentality. Liang uses majority of BH during a game. Not a lot of variety. Lin plays more various shots. But we know he needs to toughen up his mentality. Hopefully this will improve when...
  7. Anyone tried Michael Maze blade with Chinese Rubbers?

A classic Chinese rubber like Neo H3 will pair well with a wide range of blade incl all wood and ALC. I put a Neo TG2 (which is slower than H3 but more spin) on a 5-ply all wood blade. But my FH loop is among the most powerful in my club. With Chinese rubber, they more you put in, rhe more...
  8. DHS Hurricane 301?

It's great value for money. Overall performance is comparable to Butterfly Innerforce and Long V. In some areas such as speed at low impact, 301 actually exceed the other two. For a fraction of the price, it's at least worth a try. Spend 5min sanding down the edges and handle would make your...

  10. DHS Hurricane 301?

I have played both. Trajectory - 301 longer Arc - Primorac higher Speed - 301 faster Control - Primorac higher Weight - 301 heavier For me, 301 goes really well with tacky Chinese rubbers. It will give your opponent a hard time as your power loop will be low and long. Passionate about TT
  11. Korea Open 2018

Ok i am a bit behind here. Can someone explain to me, are players meant to be randomized after the knockout stage across all international competition? Sounds like Korean TTA decided they want to randomize the winners of the knockout stage whereas ITTF rule says otherwise. That's how I...
  12. Struggling to drive the ball after change to chinese rubber

Hi yogi_bear, try Neo Skyline 2 41 degree. Even with the poly ball you can still spin and hit like the celluloid. Pretty amazing Passionate about TT
  13. Struggling to drive the ball after change to chinese rubber

The difference can be due to stock. Older stock is more tacky. New stock has lost about half the tackiness. I saw a guy with a new sheet of H3, looks like Euro non tacky rubber. Passionate about TT
  14. Struggling to drive the ball after change to chinese rubber

There's difference between Chinese rubbers. Which one in specific? In general you need faster recovery for the next stroke. Therefore strengths in thigh and core are critical. But once you unleash the full power of even a cheap Neo H3, you will notice it can beat T05 by a large margin...
  15. Korea Open 2018

https://youtu.be/NB7Kt0jNvF4 Glad to see Xue Fei used more FH attack and a more legal serve. His FH consistency has improved. Or is it because his opponent is a lefty? Passionate about TT
  16. Seeking advice for replacing backhand Rasanter R42

Gewo Thunderball2 and Hype EL 40 are both very light and fast. If Beat speed is 100, EL40 would be 90 with more linearity and control. Thubderball2 would have a speed of 80 with more spin. I have fallen in love of Gewo rubbers they are just amazing, not cheap tho. Passionate about TT

  18. Seeking advice for replacing backhand Rasanter R42

You can still buy Rasant Beat on eBay. It's a great rubber. Very light yet fast. I used 2.1mm on my wood blade. But still too fast. I recommend 1.9mm if possible. Serious it's REALLY fast for such a light rubber. Passionate about TT
  19. DHS H301 vs. Butterfly Viscaria

I hv played both Primorac and H301 too. Their difference is like between day and night. It's impossible to find Primorac's feel in H301. Primorac's feel is just so wonderful. H301 gives u longer trajectory and lower throw. The feel is also impaired due to hard top ply and alc. Passionate about TT
  20. Help returning player choose equipment

Good on you. H301 has really good value for money. It's just slightly heavier than other blades. If you play shakehand and use lighter rubbers then no problem. In many Chinese forum H301 is said to be better than the legendary Long V for amateurs. That's because with koto top ply you can...
