  1. Thicker rubbers are softer when using the same sponge material

I went back to read the original post. Man, what a trick to lower my IQ. The premise of this thread is beyond dumb. I doubt the hard-headed engineer has read the standard before sprouting all that crap. "A spring constant would be much better"? FFS, the Shore hardness incorporates the...
  2. Thicker rubbers are softer when using the same sponge material

That is easy to solve. People would just boost the crap out of it. The problem has always been the thickness limit. That's why H3 was most commonly available in 2.2 around early 2009, then 2.15 caught on and now 2.10 is the standard.
  3. Thicker rubbers are softer when using the same sponge material

I tried the Blue Whale 3 (its price put Tenergy to shame) once back in 2011 or so. That rubber couldn't be used in sanctioned tournaments because of its thickness (~4.16-4.2mm), but the extra thickness made it feel so good to play with. The thicker the sponge, the harder it has to be so that...
  4. What company would you like to be sponsored by?

Below is a recent event organized by Nittaku in their mission of "connecting table tennis and players", where the sponsored players make a guest appearance to introduce table tennis to the next generation.
  5. What company would you like to be sponsored by?

Yasaka and Nittaku. Both have a really good history of sponsoring players from a young age and those players tend to stay with them after growing up. For example, Yasaka was the first brand to sponsor Harimoto before Butterfly "bought him out". Butterfly wasn't really that good at identifying...
  6. 2.1 or 1.9mm on T05H (FH) and D05 (BH)

H3 is usable by itself. But like using D05 and T05H in anything less than 2.1, using H3 Neo BS provincial/national unboosted is a waste of money. Man, H3 Neo BS national is even more expensive than Dignics. And you need good glue and good booster, certainly not Tear Mender and Baby Oil.
  7. 2.1 or 1.9mm on T05H (FH) and D05 (BH)

Using D05 or T05H in anything less than 2.1 is a waste of money. Would be better to go with Glayzer 2.1 instead.
  8. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05

I see it the other way around. You can get Dignics for 112% the price of Tenergy. For 12% more, you get all the bells and whistles. What a steal. Compared to when it was first released in 4/2008, Tenergy now costs 149%. The price of Tenergy actually makes the decision of switching to...
  9. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05

1951 for the inverted version of Soft Rubber, now known as Original. 1953 for the non-inverted version. http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=80846&PID=1003858&title=the-birth-of-modern-table-tennis#1003858
  10. what type of backhand?

The term used in the part 4 video is 「ドライブに対するバックハンドでのカウンタードライブ」, literally "BH counter-drive against drive." The stroke is the equivalent of 反手快帶/BH quick guide or 反手快撕/BH quick rip in Chinese, with Miwa's demo being closer to the former and Tomokazu's demo being closer to the latter.

  15. World Table Tennis Championships 2023

For Zhu Yuling, it is understandable, but for Chen Meng, it is unforgivable. Chen Meng went into the Tokyo 2020 with a World Cup title only, and 0 continental, or even national titles. She was the kryptonite to Liu Shiwen and Wang Manyu, yet she was denied an ATTC title in 2015, a WTTC final...

That's like saying MLin was unlucky to have Mastu-Ken. LOL RSM and MLin: Are we a joke to you? WH: I should've let ML won at WTTC 2011 so ZJK wouldn't be able to overtake him in ranking and qualify for London 2012. But wait, is it a given that ML was going to beat ZJK?
