  1. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

Aha, Ito hurt her back. That's why. Bold statement as well. https://www.nikkansports.com/sports/news/201912140000865.html In the first game of the women's singles semifinals, Ito tied the score with eight consecutive points after trailing 1-9 against Chen Meng and turned the game around...
  2. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

I guess he means his wrist hurts when he uses the FH. And the opponents, aware of that, will feed balls to his FH to make him use his "weakened" FH to induce misses or weak returns, on top of exploiting his BH.
  3. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

https://www.nikkansports.com/sports/news/201912140000689.html The combination of old acquaintances from childhood torments the World Champions. In the first game, Mizutani scored reliably from women's Liu and won 11-9. The second game was an overwhelming 11-6. From there, the champion's dignity...
  4. Does softer sponges mean catapult effect is inevitable

Not when it comes to TSP. The Ventus series is the flagship, much like Fastarc by Nittaku. Japanese companies overall have a rather impressive track record of keeping their products in circulation for decades, compared to German brands.
  5. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Your argument would sound way more persuasive had Niwa beaten Calderano in Austrian Open. Even Niwa said he was lucky. https://www.daily.co.jp/general/2019/12/03/0012927735.shtml "I was able to get a minimum result in November. (Reserve player, etc.) Luck also overlapped, so I can't say I'm...

If anything, LSW is the one who has always had a difficult time playing CM and FTW. Look up the stats. Keep this in mind. CM = Ms Open. Ito's analysis of the CNT is really on point here.
  7. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

The thing is whenever T2 is involved, CNT's action/reaction/decision has always influenced the JNT's selection race in some form or way. The reason Ishikawa and Kato made the T2 Malaysia was because of the Chinese National Championships. Keep in mind ML and LSW told the media that they needed...
  8. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Racketgate? Austriagate? OTHgate? Ishikawa and Niwa should be grateful to Miyasaki, who is a technical consultant of the T2 in charge of all the rules and proposed the 24-minute rule and 1 serve per turn etc. pongfugrasshopper will be glad to find out there's at least 1 blogger from Japan...

Makes sense. Exhaust all possibilities. Explore all your options. You never know. There you go.
  10. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

Bobrow has definitely been working on his Mandarin. He could pick up what Chiang Peng-Lung said during the TO.
  11. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

    Final update.
  12. Does softer sponges mean catapult effect is inevitable

Ventus Spin might be a decent choice. JG combi is something more than a gimmick. It retains some of that mushy feel traditional to Japanese rubber, yet doesn't have the pronounced hollow feel typical of German ESN Tensor. To my surprise it doesn't bottom out when I flipped over to play a few FH.
  13. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

I wanted to get my subscriber count up to enable more features. Ito looks rather calm and satisfied in the interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3Q7Rkdw3-Y LGL gave CM pointers. We seriously need to ban him for that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK1FhPf7gys

Check out the subbed interviews on my channel. I'm too lazy to embed them.
  15. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

The memory of this 49-page mega thread shortly after Fegerl took out ZJK still haunts to this date. Elena Semenova: Your service isn't good enough.
  16. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

The FZD I want is truly back. FZD: I bulldoze people.
  17. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

Ito looks lethargic. She's not moving at all. Not enough sleep? New service motion that's not all that deceptive. It feels like she's holding back.
  18. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

    Ito vs CM 1:9, 8:9, TO for CM, 9:9, 9:10, 12:10!
