But transparent, democratic and fair. Yet, folks aren't pleased here. Hmm, I think I've written this somewhere before. Transparent, democratic and fair = undesirable and stupid.

Curious about the past WTTC trials, I looked them up and voila! Ishikawa, Ito, and Hirano have never won. Ishikawa qualified for 2007(doubles debut) and '09(singles debut) by recommendation, '11 by beating 3 top 20 players, '13-15 by All-Japan Champion, '17-19 by World Ranking. Ito qualified...

The guys actually told the press that it was so hot inside the suit. And FZD actually asked the announcer if he could speak faster because "he likes to sweat."

The men's side was quite even. I actually expected Oshima to reach the final. Morizono actually responded in a recent episode of Takkyuu Japan about being labelled a doubles player, that he doesn't mind it and that he'd been working on his singles. So good change for him.

Which leads to another infamous Chinese saying 內戰內行, 外戰外行.

And thus the same results?

Like it or not, Kato has been very consistent in past trials, too. There's dedicated term for that in China, 內戰專家.

I guess I shouldn't have left out the sarcasm switch. Whatever the case, I blame it on the rules and not the players here, even though I wanted Hayata to win. Anyway. How has it been? The forum is just not the same without your precious input.

Li Sun said it 1st in the women's team final of ATTC 2017, in the match b/w Hayata and ZYL. LGL mentioned it again in women's team final b/w China and Japan of the Team World Cup 2018, actually citing that people's focus on Ito was misplaced.

They had separate trials for men and women in a slightly different format and it wasn't part of the Japan Top 12 tournament. 4 groups of 8 followed by knock-out of the 1st 2 in each group, all in a span of 3 days. Guess what? Kato won, beating Hayata 4-1 in the QF! Fair and square! Damn...

What's even worse here is that Nagasaki got taken out by Sakura. This highlights the volatility of a knock-out trial. That's why CNT does it with a huge round-robin.
