  1. Upgrading blade and what it means to be able to control

I remember having that exact idea when I started too. But it didn't matter at that stage. I'd say play with the current rubbers and when they are used, you can buy them again or you can decide you'll buy slightly harder or softer rubbers. I like your desire to learn the technique properly. What...
  2. Editorial: It's hard to know if an equipment change actually makes you better

It sounds like thunder in storm. (I really would be honored if we can take it outside.)
  3. Editorial: It's hard to know if an equipment change actually makes you better

Caught me :-). When the hunter suddenly becomes the huntee, it ain't fun anymore, but it feels right. Right???

If you don't need new rubbers now, buy wine. If you do need new rubbers now, buy wine.
  6. the GOAT conversation

The G in GOAT has this aura of objectivity, because so many things must be taken to consideration, before you even attempt to spell one. But worse then is it's exclusivity, because only one can be the GOAT, which is unjust to all the others. That's why I prefer to pick 1 small aspect, and...
  7. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

Good motivation! And thanks for translating these crazy bars to seconds :-)
  8. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

I got it. Next time I'll try to identify where I am at 2nd and 4th beat, assuming I'll be successful in playing the beat in head.
  9. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

I usually do FH drive at 70-75 BPM (2 slightly diff. balls + "random" so each is a bit varied, more like 75). Then BH drive at same speed for warmup. The 2BH 2FH also in this tempo but more like 70, also this is not drive but topspin. Falkenberg is harder, so I reduce, sometimes I do 60. The...
  10. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

Thank you for the answer. So far for Falkenberg I used 65 BPM, 30/50 mode. I'll try to reduce to say 15/30. That you pointed to that aspect, shortening the time, might be helpful. I hope your program will be succesful.
  11. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

My picture is more complete now. I couldn't connect it to the actual ball hits. But you are speaking about virtual hits. I can imagine now that you can do these sequences in the precise rhythm, while it plays in your head. With robot if you set "random" the balls don't come to the same point...
  12. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

Technic and speed. I see the physical fitness as totally secondary for me and automatically coming from the time spent doing exercise where the focus is not the fitness. Can you include the BPM (ball per minute) recommendation into the mode?
  13. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

What mode do you recommend for Falkenberg drill on table tennis robot?
  14. the GOAT conversation

You must have meant the "best". If you meant "beautiful", I'm sure you'd correct to Ma Long. Poetry...
  15. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

Now I'm getting the glimpse of it. Like the beat and then the individual moves (not necessarily all strokes, that would be too fast) are happening in that rhythm.

  17. A New Training Method/ Cardiofitping

Some things are hard to decode for me. 120 BPM means "balls per minute"?
  18. the GOAT conversation

Not even close :-) See, I'm getting there... Thanks :-)
  19. Editorial: It's hard to know if an equipment change actually makes you better

Such claims should indeed be met with skepticism. Especially if the change is "within range" (small, not drastic, in the EJ spirit as written before). Not a bigger change, like change from inverted to small pips, which has bigger impact and as you said, also it's own trade-offs, and can but does...
  20. Editorial: It's hard to know if an equipment change actually makes you better

:-) I think it is of enormous importance if someone tries almost all the rubbers on the world. That someone then develops the "bigger picture", and can relate the rubbers to each other from experience. It is useful for the others who inevitably see only a small part of the elephant. When that...
