  1. Bulgaria Open 2018

Then you don't understand the 'Peter principle', sorry.
  2. Bulgaria Open 2018

That does not compute. Cause by your reckoning, Malong's loss to Liam is also demonstrating the Peter principle. Really silly comment, sorry.
  3. His Name is Liam Pitchford

Fault serve or too harsh? I only saw the highlights. But that fault serve at 11:11 really unsettled him and I don't believe that he recovered. He served only standard serves from then on, I think, so as not to risk another fault call. Can anyone show that serve in slow motion? I looked at it...
  4. Allwood = outdated?

It's summertime! Forum discussions tend to fall off during the off-season. Plus the fact that there no big discussion points at the moment, eg; -No contentious rule changes -no unusual matches or results recently, Harimoto phenomenon has become mainstream -The plastic ball has now settled...
  5. Collection of balls

Lion ball Soon after the 40mm ball was introduced, I went to training but forgot to pack my usual Nittaku. I bought a packet of 6-pack Lion brand just to play with for the day. After that it went to the varied pile in my robot which then went to the robot at my club. Recently we finally went to...
  6. Replacement for H3 Neo Provincial?

I don't know much about boosting. However, you also say that you play 4-5 times per week. Under the circumstances, 2-3 months sounds very reasonable for any rubber. Also speaking to players who do play a lot, 3-4 weeks is about the time limit for optimum performance from a boosted rubber.
  7. Question: Is it legal to wear this tshirt?

Perfectly legal for use anywhere that TT is played
  8. Looping bat

Nope. Generally young cadets know very little about equipment. They just play with what is handed to them and/or copy what their better comrades are playing with. You may also be surprised to learn that most coaches also don't know a lot of the various in and outs of different rubbers and...
  9. Looping bat

Any blade of Viscaria/TBS/Timo Boll ALC with T05 both sides There's a good thread somewhere here that talks about whether young players should use the same type & model rubbers on both of the bat. The general consensus was yes. Consider using T05 on both sides. Viscaria or Timo Boll Spirit...
  10. Switching out of T05...

Your experience is the same as mine. I've seen players start out with slow gear and become very good at the sport. I've seen players start out with fast gear and become very good at the sport. The things they had in common were; reasonable fitness, good coordination and a great desire to improve.
  11. Switching out of T05...

I was being a bit sarcastic towards us amateurs. That is, most of us tend to buy equipment that's flashy but ultimately not great for general improvement.
  12. Switching out of T05...

TBS runs the gamut from off- to off in my experience over several years with several of these blades. Sure the pros use TBS with T05 or similar setups. But if us hobby players were sensible we'd all still be using Stiga Allround with MarkV 1.8mm. But where's the fun in that.
  13. Switching out of T05...

Agreed. However, 60-70% is pretty decent considering OP's experience. I think that he would have had the same result with any other setup. I would stick with Tenergy and slow down the blade to the Allround 5-ply. I rate the TBS at about off- so no need for the Primorac.

  15. Confused about weight transfer

The 'hop' is the the TT version of the split step. Although used a lot in TT, I don't see much coaching information on it. However, google split step for tennis, squash even diving for guidance.
  16. Jang Woo-jin using hurricane 3 national blue sponge???

Standing up for England TT equipment For most of TT history English made and designed equipment dominated. Remember, Leyland rubber, Barna bats etc. For rubbers, the dominant player was the English company, Dunlop. They owned the rubber plantations, rubber (tyre) factories and were the makers...
  17. Old black metal tag butterfly primorac

Nemezis, all that you have mentioned are good blades and good combinations. Butterfly made several blades under the Primorac name. All had their particular features and were of good quality. Which one are you talking about? Also what are trying to achieve? That is, are you thinking of buying a...
  18. Dragutin Surbek 1946-2018

RIP Mr Surbek Here's a prized blade from my collection. I was given this blade just a few weeks ago and it's actually brand new, never used, old stock.
  19. Multiball feeding with Long pimples

The best person to ask is Dan. Just pm him and he'll point you in the right direction.
  20. Multiball feeding with Long pimples

Many drills only limited by the feeder and player imagination There are many multiball drills that the feeder can use to train a player. Example Feeder topspins with the inverted and LP side randomly. This trains the player to watch which side has hit the ball and adjust accordingly. Feeder...
