  1. World Table Tennis Macao 2020

Looks like the unique selling (sic) point of WTT events is that betting will be allowed (unlike ITTF events) and IMG Arena will forward the live feeds to all major betting websites. https://www.casino.org/news/img-arena-to-live-stream-world-table-tennis-matches-to-licensed-sportsbooks/
  2. Comparing Ma Long's first and sixth ITTF Finals wins

The change from celluloid to plastic ball has changed the game more than player's natural aging.
  3. Pushing is so annoying Help!

There is no alternative after backspin serves for beginner-intermediate players - you have to try and loop the ball in order to escape pushing rallies.
  4. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

Choing is simply a psychological release mechanism. Plus it forces you to take a deep breath afterwards. That's all there is to it - and players are doing it because this has obvious benefits which have nothing to do with being disrespectful to the opponent. I bet the people who moan about...
  5. Return of International TT Matches

Jeong's wrist flexibility never fails to amaze me. Imo the secret is his footwork. He stays close to the table and somehow manages to be almost always in position to play a quick counter ...
  6. Mima Ito Smash Heavy Underspins

If the ball is above net height and there is a straight line from the ball to the end of the opponent's side of the table, then the ball is flat-hittable irrespective of what spin is on the ball, all you need to do is be in position and swing your arm fast enough. Which is not that easy to do as...
  7. Joola Nature

SWAT Power is basically a Clipper. Nothing like the regular Swat.
  8. WTT Macao "Innovations"

IMO, the reason for sudden death points is to increase pressure (CNT does this all the time in their trials) and also to make the length of matches more predicable and thus more suitable for TV broadcasting.
  9. Wildish errors by players -- so vexing, so abundant.

And play somewhat further away from the table in order to create the arc. I like to spin the ball more than flat hit (and have a tendency to give up the table too soon) so, yeah, that would suit me fine :-)
  10. Wildish errors by players -- so vexing, so abundant.

    Ditto for slightly higher net.
  11. When you finally beat the player you never beat!!

Wow, thank you for the kind words!
  12. When you finally beat the player you never beat!!

Come on, you guys are taking this so seriously ... MOG pulled off a very nice loop (just listen to the contact sound!!!) and it deserved not just a fist pump but a cho as well, notwithstanding the edge. And he did apologize.
  13. Statistical analysis of an Equipment Junkies results!!

Perhaps your FH is your primary point winner, not BH pips. Here is how you can verify that "scientifically": You've got the videos for these matches, don't you? Try making a table of points won/lost recording opponents shot/your reaction shot/blade + rubber side used to return. This will...
  14. When you finally beat the player you never beat!!

Such a nice edge off a loop full of sidespin and your only reaction is a fist pump :-) Harimoto would not approve! :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56RMfMsP26c&feature=youtu.be&t=820
  15. Advice on BH technique?

BH looking really good! P.S.: Lol, I've played every player who appears in this video. Cannot wait to come back to the best TT venue in England!
  16. Playing against defensive short players

If they are truly defensive or passive players who do not initiate the attack first, might be worth pushing deep and low with a lot of underspin. This would force the return push to be long as well - and voila - here is your chance to loop. Deep fast serves should also have the same effect.
  17. Stupid question about Tenergy 05!

:-) Don't forget to tell this to the BTY fanboys who insisted for years that no rubber harder than T05 - tensor or tacky - was even remotely playable until T05 Hard's release ...
  18. Which Joola rubber is most similar to Tenergy 05fx

It can do anything in good hands :-) As I recall, it had a more direct feel than T05FX - no doubt due to the harder topsheet (as mentioned by BryanY).
