  2. Dima Ovtcharov's quality loss

    Yes, quite likely.
  3. Dima Ovtcharov's quality loss

You're not wrong. DO was WR1 for Jan 2018. Same month when the new ITTF ranking system came into place. And since then - rolling downhill.
  4. Dima Ovtcharov's quality loss

IMO, DO's lack of results is a direct consequence of his inability to adapt to the new poly ball. He just cannot stay at the table and bang the ball off the bounce like the younger players. And he's no XX to play powerfully away from the table with the poly ball.

  7. Any recommendations on Mizunos?

I recommend Wave Hurricane 3: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072JMHPRH/ref=pe_1909131_77697001_tnp_email_TE_AMZLdp_1 A year and a half later, playing 3-4 times a week, still basically like new.
  8. China Open 2019

    ...
  9. Is this blade too fast for me?

He does a long chop serve, you end up pushing long it into his fh attack zone, your push with SP has little spin, so he loops strongly, etc. That's what I'll do next time we play :-) If you're not going to attack these long chop serves, your options are a bit limited. Try taking the ball...
  10. Is this blade too fast for me?

Watch videos of Tang Peng on YT every evening before going to sleep :-)
  11. Is this blade too fast for me?

He is actually not bad for a junior. Played you very freely, not worrying about making mistakes, hence the messing about with BH chop blocks, etc. You really need to be able to shut down his flicks from your serve to prevent him from getting into a rally and dominating. He's not doing banana...
  12. Is this blade too fast for me?

Your opponent did at most a couple short chop serves, the rest were long, fast, with little spin. You on the other hand did a fair number of chop serves but there wasn't enough spin on them so he flipped them.
  13. Tibhar Hybrid K1 Pro

  14. Tibhar Hybrid K1 Pro

ALso, 43 euros for K2 is a total rip off considering it can be had from TTNPP for $28 (~25 euros).
  15. Tibhar Hybrid K1 Pro

TT11 is a bit late to this party. Orders from either TTNPP or aliexpress arrive in UK in 9-10 days nowadays, at least in my experience. Any europe-based webshop that restricts its inventory to "european" versions is basically saying "we don't want your money".
  16. Tibhar Hybrid K1 Pro

    Not yet sadly.
  17. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

Grigoriy Vlasov. I'm impressed you've chosen a weekend of coaching instead of the London Grand Prix
  18. Spin is better than Speed - I am a believer now.

Good one! Though I must admit to growing to like the changes brought about by plastic balls - that it's now harder to win a point quickly, that longer rallies are required, that one needs to be more physically fit to play as an attacker, etc - feels like I became a better player as a result.
  19. Spin is better than Speed - I am a believer now.

Somewhere in Canada, Adam Sharara is reading this post on his iPad, and thinking "yesss, finally TT forum people see why we had to switch to plastic balls".
