  1. Andro Achanta

https://www.andro.de/en/andro-achanta New blade from andro. Gauzy has also been using a new blade for a few weeks now, so probably more Signature blades are coming.
  2. STIGA New cybershape: CYBERSHAPE WAVY

Maybe this blade behaves very differently with different weights or I´ve had one that was outside the norm (did have "normal" version, but that shouldn´t be the point) or I used Monday rubbers or whatever, but: My Wavy weighed 92 grams and was indeed very fast, also stiff and one of the dullest...
  3. Make Joola Great Again (with Pickleball?)

If it´s done jokingly I´m sure you´re a good sport. Like, for example, Prithika Pavade struggles to win anything now that she is with GEWO ;)
  4. Stiga Helix Platinum ( Any review )

Hell yeah! :) I got the blade handed down by someone who wasn´t entirely happy, complete with two DNA Hybrid H. Very good combination, and when I tried Helix M I was expecting an explosive catapult effect compared to those, because Helix M is softer and non-sticky. But this rubber behaves very...
  5. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

And probably as a sidenote, German national team player Nina Mittelham is now with GEWO after playing with Butterfly for a long time and announcing her own brand Mibe years ago, of which not much is to be seen.
  6. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

True for original Dornenglanz and Dornenglanz II, while Dornenglanz III is also available in 1,0 and Dornenglanz X in 1,0 and 1,5. But that says nothing, just for completion.
  7. Do table tennis blades wear out over time?

They do. Humidity from sweat and glue slow them down a little. Some also say a blade can be "played in" and age adds feeling. For a pro player who glues every other day this might be a reason to change after a set period of time. For an amateur player who plays with the same rubbers for a few...
  8. Lightweight alternative to the Butterfly Ovtcharov ALC Blade

I can understand the balance issue when the head size is larger than "normal", but how heavy is your Ovtcharov blade? As you most probably know there are variations in the blade weight, even with Butterfly´s quality control standards, and finding a lighter Ovtcharov than yours might be a...
  9. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Timo Boll is a legend and popular worldwide. Even after the end of his active career that makes him a better brand ambassador than many other pro players, although of course Butterfly has other high-profile players under contract, too.
  10. Opinions on setup

Kinda... I see advantages for R47 due to the catapult effect (more support on strokes) which is really low-ish on the G1 and also wouldn´t recommend the change.
  11. Can you compare these three blades: Freitas ALC, Viscaria ALC, Harimoto innerforce ALC

Freitas has softer touch compared to Viscaria because Limba is used as the top veneer as opposed to Koto. Harimoto also has Limba outer plies and the ALC is directly on the core, not beneath the surface, and it has a bigger head. So from the construction three different blades. And I think...

  13. I haven’t seen any post on 729 sky wing. Anybody used it?

Must be. This rubber is so soft that it can´t be Chinese scale.
  14. Outer ALC Blade paired with medium rubber?

Both are excellent rubbers and the Freitas is a good blade. The combination works well as such. But the problem is, any rubber works on any blade, but not for anyone. So if I say it´s a controlled combination and someone else with different preferences tells you it´s way too fast or yet...
  15. Explain this TT rubber schizophrenia to me

That´s the point. It will not go down to "amateur softness".
  16. Explain this TT rubber schizophrenia to me

The right booster will make a rubber marginally softer, but the increase in spin in overall performance is much bigger. You will not arrive at a standard t05 when you boost a t05 Hard, for example. Really soft rubbers do not offer professional players (very few exceptions) the power they need...
  17. Thickness vs Hardness

If you compare otherwise identical rubbers, you´ll very likely feel more at ease with the softer and thicker version. If not, the comparison makes no sense, because there are factors like topsheet hardness and construction or sponge characteristics. So let´s say Bluegrip J1 (55) and J2 (52,5)...
  18. Hybrid rubber comparison (and durability)

For hybrid rubbers, none. But you couldn´t say it lasts forever, just as long as non-hybrid Tensor rubbers, which is a major achievement for a hybrid. So you might get a Rasanter to enjoy a good longevity.
  19. Fan Zhendong is joining 1. FC Saarbrücken next season

More like looking for inside info on what the manufacturers do than what you want :) If Gewo can do it, other ESN customers also might. Just haven´t seen it before on any pro player rubber I´ve received (but then I also wouldn´t have checked...), hence my curiousity.
  20. Should every beginner be an offensive style player?

That, and also the playing style depends on the mindset. So for starters, teach them basic strokes and watch them ;)
