  1. Good FH rubbers for YEO

TG2 Neo is the best option imo. It's slow if you touch the ball softly, but it can be very fast if you put power into your stroke. Of course, it would be better with booster...
  2. Video Footage Safe Thread

Oh, I see. Sorry, I didn't realize that's what this thread was. I might post some footage of myself at some point. I'm not an expert by any means -- around 1500-1700 -- but I think my stroke fundamentals are pretty solid and I think I have some good advice to offer beginner penholders. I...
  3. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

Sometimes I push with RPB if the ball is very far on my left side (as a right handed player) -- this is easier for me than trying to reach across the body to do a TPB push. TPB push is easier in front of the body, but if the ball comes wide I like to use RPB push. I see Felix Lebrun and Dang...

After a long time, I've settled on using this blade with 802-40 short pips on forehand (with occasional twiddling). For me the pips let me play faster and closer to the table -- what this blade excels at. I like this setup a lot and I use it in tournaments sometimes.
  5. Best Method to boost H3 BS

idk how much stock I should put into recommendations from a guy who calls his booster "waifu"
  6. Best Method to boost H3 BS

If you want the boost to last longer, add a layer (or two!) of glue before applying booster. I like to do 2 layers of glue, one thick layer of booster, wait 24-48 hrs, and then one more layer of glue. This lasts me usually 2 months. If you put the booster directly on the sponge you'll get a...
  7. What is going on with Felix??

Clearly. His forehand was really lacking in these recent world cup matches. I don't understand why he doesn't just switch. He could be smashing like Liu Guoliang!
  8. What is going on with Felix??

What is happening with Felix Lebrun lately? Ever since Montpellier where he beat LSD 4-0 he's been getting knocked out of tournaments really early. He looks very uncomfortable while playing and doesn't seem to be playing with the spirit he had during the olympics. He didn't even make it past the...
  9. Racket suggestion

It could just be my bias, but my experience is that Hurricane 3 is WAY better in the serve-receive game than any tensor rubber. I think most people here would agree with that as well. It's not nearly as bouncy, so it's much more forgiving if you don't read the spin correctly. You personally...
  10. Blade recommendations

In all seriousness though, Victas Koki Niwa is very good for counterspin and counterattack. I don't know if Butterfly makes a blade specifically for countering but Viscaria probably does a decent job. Besides that, I don't think we know enough about your playing style to really suggest anything...

I hear this one is really good for spin reversal 👀

  14. Racket suggestion

Ma Lin Extra Offensive is a great blade and it'll work well with Fastarc G1 on both sides. It'll be on the fast side, though -- if this is your first custom racket I'd suggest something a little slower like Mark V or Rakza 7. Ma Lin Extra Offensive is a pretty fast blade, so combining it with...
  15. Rubber advice for the dark side

If you want max spin reversal, you should use long pips. Antispin mostly just makes a dead ball -- good for dropping the ball close to the net, but not so good for spin reversal. If you haven't played with any weird rubbers, I think short pips is the best starting place. Try Friendship 802 or...

  17. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

Nice! Glad to hear you had a good time. The side of your index finger might take a while to toughen up. But it shouldn't be hurting "a lot", maybe you need to sand your wings more. I see in your photos that you sanded the wings a bit, but I hope you sanded them a lot more than that. My fingers...
  18. Stiga Cybershape Carbon vs Stiga Dynasty

If you want control in the short game, Dynasty is the winner hands down. It has good top-end speed (comparable to other outer carbon blades) but you have to work for it. If you don't put in power, it plays like a wood blade. Dynasty has the same "pop" as Viscaria, but you need to hit with more...
  19. Stiga Dynasty Carbon (Xu Xin)

Reply to review by 'greenbeanmachine' on item 'Stiga Dynasty Carbon (Xu Xin)'

You can create very spinny pushes and serves if you hit the ball strongly enough to activate the carbon. For me this usually means the ball goes long, but if you're more skilled than me you can probably do strong short pushes/serves as well. Generally a good blade for spin even if you don't...
  20. Best glue to assemble rubbers?

Use free chack if you enjoy pulling chunks out of your sponge Use DHS 15 or Nittaku Finezip if you don't
