  1. my 10 year old nephew wants to start playing modern defensive

I think he can start with inverted like markv on a slow all wood allround blade. With that racket he can do all the strokes. Probably can chop with it okey aswell. I think it is probably more diifcult and a longer road to take if he change to long pimples at this moment. As long as he finds it...
  2. What happens if the ball hits your finger and the ball makes it to the other side?

Would it be okey to serve on the hand om purpose when serving bh? Maybe start with that haha
  3. I got coached by Timo Boll's coach!

I feel the longer i play and the longer i coach the more important i feel serve and return are. Have been coaching some adults that basically started to train tabletennis at adults. Are really really motivated, high achieving individuals and personalities so have really become better. In the...
  4. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Going to be a assistent coach for a week this Thursday to next thursday. The other coaches are very competent, have been living doing this their whole life and have been or are coaches for national teams. Looking forward to it despite being a bit of a newbie in this company. Will try to update...
  5. What can i do to get my chops lower

Also Feel important to use the body alot in the chop. Like the forehand loop. The arm can make all kind of strange stuff. Proably also more important för defenders to really play with legs and not the arm, to really work to the ball. Stand wrong and the ball gets high and you Will get destroyed.
  6. What can i do to get my chops lower

You are reaching to much for the ball. Move the legs closer to the ball and it Will not be high. Have trained with a chopper for over ten years. This is his problem when the ball gets to high. When he does this he comes under the balll and Do not get any Power so it flies up.
  7. Could someone help me out on which short pips rubber is most suitable for me?

Try it! Fun way of playing. Godot get spin on the baxkhand so the ball Will go high for the forehand. I have Tried alot short pimples recently because they basically stop doing mine. With a grippier you Will not get somuch effect and it is more like an inverted. But it is proably saffrans easier...
  8. Could someone help me out on which short pips rubber is most suitable for me?

How Do you want to play? Think many old penholders used pimples with somewhat less grip till get a more straight arc. I think a softer grippier short pimple rubber Would be the easiest in beginning. Rakza not so much grip. Moritso no glue effect? I think you should try victas vo 102. The middle...
  9. Hardness vs Arc

Think you should think about blade aswell. In my opinion that effects the arc more than the rubber.
  10. Missing timing on serves (help!)

Still think there are less technique in servering and more about fantasy and try and errror. Feel that tabletennis in general is pretty monotone, but return and especially serving you can go crazy. I think it works to just practice as long as you try different things and see how it goes...
  11. Missing timing on serves (help!)

No need to say other things. If you practice you Will figure it out. Still need to practice if you want the serve to be good. Maybe try not having so much angle. Lower throw. Use the body more or and do a longer motion.
  12. Styles Are Conforming, Is Table Tennis Getting Boring?

I think there is also a knowledge gap among many coaches about how to use and play with other rubbers than inverted. Less players with other materials than inverted reach the top proably because they are such a minority. Hou, Falck, ito, Batra and so on show that it is possible to become good...
  13. Cornileau Gatien Conquest Absolum Off+

I think that in beginning or in general for us mortals, and even pros to try to make it safe. Wait for the ball, like you should block then just make a little more speed by following the ball. If they have a lot of power and spin you can just use the ball and follow it forward. I also think it...
  14. Cornileau Gatien Conquest Absolum Off+

I think counterlooping is more of a technical or and training aspect than equipment. Try block and just extend the block when you counterloop. People sometimes swing big and that is just a chance stroke. Also very obvious for opponent What you are going to Do. Start block then just extend it a...
  15. Cornileau Gatien Conquest Absolum Off+

If you are playing tabletennis for a living i think you proably have pretty good knowledge What you should use or have people around you that know alot about equipment. People Do know much online But feel you should to be somewhat critical of all the information you get.
  16. Which Blade to choose

Maybe you can try friends blades before deciding? easier if you have some preferences :) I meant that i think a short pimple with alot of grip will be easier to do an opening loop against backspin than a short pimple with less grip. There is less grip in all short pimples compared to inverted...
  17. Which Blade to choose

Think that if you play close to the table you should have a fast, hard blade so the ball leaves the racket fast and in a low arc so you get pressure on the opponent. Do not want to big arc close to the table. Also need pretty fast and hard blade to be able to smash well with short pips. I think...
  18. Unspoken Rules?

Do not know about givning a point when 10-0. At paper yes and against Young players. But i think many players would be disturbed by this aktion if down 10-0.
  19. What Made Timo Boll SO GOOD?

Practice! He also proably had som good conditions. Heard in video that a whole clubs first team practice moved to where he lived so he Did not had to leave. How often does that happen haha
