  1. NL & USDC: I'm downgrading...

This kind of thing honestly depends on the player, his age, how far along in technique development he is. I remember you using Sweden Extra, Korbel, Primorac, Stratus Power Wood. I remember when you were still developing your spin game, you used a lot of Off- blades that were on the not...
  2. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

Right now, I don't have time to watch the whole match. Later I will. But from the few points I watched, spin is loaded from both sides of the table. :) I always like to watch when that is the case.
  3. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

Another thing about that video: man, you look so young and in such good shape. 10 years can be a long time. :)
  4. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

Back then Mark was pretty old and not in great shape. I wonder how old he is today. Last time I saw him was probably 2014-2015 and to me it seemed his skills were sliding a bit. Could have just been a perception. Person to person he was a really nice guy. He did not seem to be trash...
  5. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

Also, I have to be honest: Even with his messed up knees, hips and every other joint you can think of, I have never seen you bend your knees anywhere near as much as NL does and his mechanics are actually really good. You just may not understand what you are looking at. But even back then...
  6. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

At NYTTF back when it was open, I used to joke with him about how he was going to show off his footwork. He instantly shot back, "my footwork is walking to the table, and then walking back to the bench after I beat you."
  7. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

Playing this game with a degenerative joint issue as NL has, you have to know when you don't need to wear your joints out. As someone who has felt the power coming from his loops, even when he is straight up, his balls feel like baseballs hitting your racket because of the combination of...
  8. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

Mark Berg! Classic. The craziest and funniest things come out of his mouth as he is trash talking.
  9. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

First time I met Der in person, we met up at the Flushing 7 train stop (he was driving....in NY after a trip to Boston), and we went to the Korean TT club in Flushing NY. Within 20 min of being there, he had gotten us a discount on full day play and he had made every person in that club laugh...
  10. Good bye.

That was your trusted weapon in battle. You and that blade have been through so much together. That is the blade you hang on the wall with all those dings you gave and all those memories it gave you!
  11. What’s your most satisfying moment in table tennis?

Best TT moment for me was getting squished repeatedly by Der_Echte, NextLevel and Smash_Fan at NYISC and/or at Lily Yips (well....at Lily Yip's Smash_Fan wasn't there). Second best was when, barely 100 feet out of the parking spot, on the way to NYISC with Der_Echte driving, we came within a...
  12. Finding the perfect rubber for your game

Really, after the stage, the level, where you need something that won't cause you to spray the ball all over the place, once you are able to read and adapt to the incoming spin to a certain degree, then the rest is really personal choice and what you like. I still like medium soft rubbers. I...
  13. Producing side underspin on the chiquita

Just to be clear: your posts get deleted because you are insulting, attack people, and make any issue personal. There are times when you post information that is good and useful and it is so often mixed with toxic, antisocial behavior that the information becomes much less the issue than the...
  14. Finding the perfect rubber for your game

Here: I got these results once: And then these results: All of the questions in the following screen shot don't have enough options. Some of them should include the ability to choose multiple options, and most of them are just so incomplete as to not really be useful: For question 1...
  15. Finding the perfect rubber for your game

Yeah, I just don't see how it could give useful suggestions with how simplistic and limited the questions are.
  16. Finding the perfect rubber for your game

As for the site, I feel like the questions are flawed. They are too limited. Often I would want to give more than one answer to the questions. The question about Speed or Control......Spin should be in there as well. I don't care about Speed and I don't care about control but I do care...
  17. Finding the perfect rubber for your game

It is worth knowing that, as long as you are not a beginner struggling to learn how to read spin, most TT rubbers that you use, you will adjust to and they will be fine for you. A player who trains will adapt their technique to the equipment they are using.
  18. Creating side underspin with a loop

    Also agree with this.
  19. Creating side underspin with a loop

Yeah. I agree with everything you say here. These are fair points. And you are doing a good job of explaining the simultaneous actual spin and the spin response from the contact point. And also the difference between responding to a serve or a shot that is going faster. The whole time you...
  20. Creating side underspin with a loop

It is funny. I remember serving corkscrew to some high level players and having them do what happens in those videos where the ball goes right into the net. I remember serving the same serve to someone low level enough not to be able to read the spin at all and they just slapped the ball flat...
