  1. New Color of Good Rubbers

Not yet, but I think it would be a logical next step.
  2. New Color of Good Rubbers

Funny how young people should say this, when before the "classic" the rubber world was colourful ;)
  3. New Color of Good Rubbers

For modern (German) rubber production the effect of the colour has decreased from as much as 12 % to 0,03 % (industry insider information), so at least on all these if you feel that the black rubber is more spinny, then you may feel it, but it shouldn´t be the case (for rubbers of same weight...
  4. Truls silver medal is a small victory for all EJs

I think you have a good point here. I am now in my 50s, and do not think anymore about what might be. I try things out of curiousity or because I am asked to, but not in the hope for change. But looking back on me as a younger player, sometimes I think what might have been, because knowing what...
  5. Andro R45 & Andro Hexer Grip

R45 is way more powerful and spinny, plays in a different league, even to almost rival R48. Hexer Grip is a nice rubber nevertheless. R45 is no beast no handle, so I would say it gives MORE control through more options/gears. Overall, don´t be fooled by the same nominal hardness. Hexer Grip is a...
  6. Rubber compatibility with TB ALC

The harder the overall combination, the more effort is required to generate spin. For many players an ALC with H3 (not boosted) would therefore feel very stiff and difficult to play. While still being basically a Chinese type rubber, the BlueGrip is a little more dynamic than the Hurricane, and...
  7. Professionals switching equipment

Samsonov did it also. Boll varies the hardness of the rubbers. Some like to adapt, others less or not at all.
  8. colored rubbers

Comparing pink Quantum X to red Quantum X I felt no difference between them, and green R48 plays like red or black R48. The variations in production have far greater effects than the colour added. My wife has two setups, one of which clearly has a better black rubber and the other has a better...
  9. Homemade booster with common items around the house?

At the time when everybody was experimenting a pro player friend told me about the baby oil, but it had to be Johnson´s ;) I guess nowadays it´s only for the over-curious to do experiments anymore, since the stuff used by the pros is widely available, be it Dian Chi, Seamoon or Dymax Maximizer...
  10. Quantum X Pro Blue/Pink

Purple Joola makes sense as it fits the new brand appearance. Green Andro is obvious because of the sponge colour. There will be Rasanter R48, Hexer Grip and Hexer PowerGrip in green. Also obvious: Donic releasing BlueStorm rubbers in blue, all of them with the exception of the new "Pro"...
  11. Donic Bluestorm Pro/Pro AM

In my opinion, you could basically use regular Bluestorm Z2, and I think Rasanter R47 is more powerful and spinny than Bluestorm AM anyway.
  12. Stiga DNA Dragon Grip

in Europe. In Japan, where the rubber is/was made it´s still available, like some of the long pips they are selling out over here.https://stigasports.jp/product-category/%e3%83%a9%e3%83%90%e3%83%bc-rubber/I understood it would be discontinued in Europe so Stiga could concentrate on the ESN-made...
  13. Donic Bluestorm Pro/Pro AM

I have tested the AM version. There are two independent conclusions. 1. If you are looking for a nice, easy to play rubber for playing close to the table this could be your choice. But there are other rubbers of that kind for less money, and whether the "selection" justifies the price through...
  14. Good table tennis shoes brand for indoor and outdoor on hard floor

Then maybe I really don´t move enough ;) Or my two pairs are exceptionally good, or yours wasn´t. Really, my praise comes from conviction. I have one pair in regular use and a spare one I use way less frequently, and while you can tell them apart it´s not by a mile. And I´m a heavy guy...
  15. Good table tennis shoes brand for indoor and outdoor on hard floor

It looks better than many I have seen. As for table tennis shoes, I can seriously recommend Andro Cross Step. First, they provide exceptional grip on every surface I am playing on (from wooden floor to professional tournament flooring). Second, my shoes have retained this grip despite being in...
  16. Nexy Etika review

I agree to most of your review, especially the linearity of the rubber. In combination with the reduced catapult it makes ETIKA totally reliable and gives confidence for your shots. And THAT is what a rubber should deliver, as opposed to magical tricks promised by some... However, I find it...
  17. The Orange Ball should be the standard ball

I guess there is still a problem, or by now less demand. In Switzerland for example, when they changed to plastic they also had to change from predominant orange balls to white ones from one day to another (with a bit of preparation time). Not sure they´d be going back?
  18. The Orange Ball should be the standard ball

The only rule is that the main part of shirt and shorts/skirt has to be different from the ball colour chosen. So even with white balls, a bit of white "here and there" is acceptable for the clothing, and any type of rainbow inspired design should not be an issue.
