  1. Ma Long gives Dimitrij Ovtcharov new Rackets

Hehe. Monitor the for sale sections of various tt forums over the course of the next few weeks - anyone claiming to sell "authentic" (or signed) Ma Long's blades could be Dima :-)
  2. New gear

Sounds like you're just returning to the game after many years of not playing. If you truly value control and spin over speed, then don't waste megabucks on BTY or Stiga fast/composite blades. Get yourself a reasonably priced allwood allround blade (like Stiga Allround Classic or BTY Maze t-tec...
  3. Learn the Reverse Pendulum Backspin serve. It has helped me a lot!

Better question, where is the link to Kokain's video of the reverse pendulum serve? Preferably, a split screen version that includes the Pingskills video - so we all could watch both videos side by side and see the differences ...
  4. Books by Alex Polyakov

I read both. Good reads. Yet another proof that talent is a myth, and hard work makes anything possible.
  5. Andro blades.....Good ? Bad ?

One of my clubmates plays with Andro Treiber OFF and Xiom Omega rubbers. Seems like a very well made blade, with decent control and power ratio. IMHO, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it in particular or with Andro blades in general.
  6. Quicker boosting times?

The key thing with boosting is get the sponge expanded and to stretch the topsheet as a result, and premature forced drying with the hair dryer will most likely interfere with the process. Try using a thinner layer of booster, let the sponge absorb it in a well-ventilated room, and it will be...

Best tomahawk tutorial ever by William Henzhell:
  8. DHS Hurricane 8 Rubber Review

Updated review with a video of a practice session using H8: http://www.tabletennisdaily.co.uk/equipment/rubbers/7635-hurricane-8
  9. Hurricane 8

4 out of 5 rating for Hurricane 8 Impressions after several practice session (H8 on FH + Nexy Calix): a) tackiness - it is a mildly tacky rubber, the level of tackiness is nowhere near N3 Neo. Which for me translates into slightly worse short game, and not as much spin on "brushy" serves. But...
  10. Hurricane 8

Review by 'vvk1' on item 'Hurricane 8'

Impressions after several practice session (H8 on FH + Nexy Calix): a) tackiness - it is a mildly tacky rubber, the level of tackiness is nowhere near N3 Neo. Which for me translates into slightly worse short game, and not as much spin on "brushy" serves. But still, H8 is much less bouncy than...
  11. Blue Sponge or Orange Sponge

You cannot really say 'the blue sponge requires more power to hit "through" the rubber', and the immediately follow it with "it's also more elastic than the orange sponge". These statements are contradictory.
  12. new club in north London

A couple of my friends from the SHAW table tennis league are opening a table tennis academy in Welwyn, North London. Perhaps there are people on this forum who are based nearby and might be interested (or know someone who might be interested). http://www.spinstta.co.uk/
  13. Blue Sponge or Orange Sponge

It is not "a lot quicker". Regular DHS Neo H3 commercial is perfectly playable on a 5ply allround blade like OSP Expert. One just needs not to be afraid to actually hit the ball. Some people claim that one rubber is faster/spinnier than another by 3-5%. It always makes me wonder how they measure...
  14. Blue Sponge or Orange Sponge

I have made the mistake of believing the hype and tried both. Don't waster your money. Just get DHS H3 Neo commercial, add one layer of falco, and enjoy. There is no discernible difference between the result and DHS H3 Neo National unless you believe that blue-coloured sponge has magic properties.
  15. DHS Hurricane 8 Rubber Review

First impressions after one practice session (H8 on FH + Nexy Calix): a) tackiness - it is a mildly tacky rubber, the level of tackiness is nowhere near N3 Neo. Which for me translates into slightly worse short game, and not as much spin on "brushy" serves. But still, H8 is much less bouncy...
  16. Float serving

Being able to vary levels of spin using identically looking serve motions in such a way that the opponent is unable to correctly judge the amount of spin without hearing the sound of ball contact is the very definition of skill. As far I am aware, there is nothing in ITTF rules that prohibits...
  17. Float serving

No problem, after all, it is your decision to forfeit the match, not mine.
  18. Stiga Quality Control issue not happy!!!

A much better CEO's measure is whether he/she is able to ensure that the manufacturing process has a virtually zero incidence of quality control issues, especially for expensive "luxury" products (which Carbonados are supposedly are), and therefore the CEO does not need to *ever* be involved in...
  19. DHS Hurricane 8 Rubber Review

I got a sheet from tt11 a couple of weeks ago, and still has it in stock. I'll have my first practice session with it tomorrow.
  20. Is Tabletennis11.com trustworthy?

tt11 is a highly regarded and reputable TT equipment seller, many people on this forum have ordered from them. If you do order from them, you may need to wait longer for your order to be shipped to you all the way to the USA, pass through US customs, etc as compared to ordering from...
