  1. Blade upgrade

I'm sure you have club mates with various types of blades you can ask to try out to see if they feel right to you. TBS will be a quite a huge difference to your current blade. A fancier 5 ply, perhaps something from OSP or an inner fiber that is claimed to be for those switching from all wood...
  2. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

I don't think Rozena is especially heavy considering the weight of latest hard offensive rubbers today. Did you specify the weight range of your FZD ALC when you bought it? If more offensive capabilities was what you wanted, perhaps the better option was to keep using your Korbel and upgrading...
  3. How to Clean your Blades?

One or two thin layers of Minwax Wipe On Poly for the blade face and Watco Danish Oil (or whatever BLO with drying additives available) for the handle. Do not mix the two. The wipe on poly is the right thing to use to seal blade faces, not the BLO.
  4. Need suggestions about upgrades

Mark V HPS is a marked improvement over the original Mark V, but never let the Mark V worshippers claim Mark V is suitable for modern offensive techniques. Rakza 7 would be the minimum I would recommend if you want to attack those underspin BH balls with loops and flicks. H3N provincial isn't...
  5. How to Clean your Blades?

If the dirt is ground in, there is only so much you can do. You can try bleach or scrub it with some other cleaner, rinse and wipe the handle dry but prevention is better than cure. Next time treat the handle with something like Watco's Danish Oil which is a boiled linseed oil with drying...
  6. Celluloid balls are back???

Where did that come from? I'm acknowledging that wherever in Europe you're from probably has a more environmental recycling policy but the facts are(as shown in the articles), in the majority of other places, that switch to the plastic balls means more plastic ends up in the landfill. Are you...
  7. Celluloid balls are back???

Celluloid is biodegradable. Just because that plastic may be recyclable does not make it economically viable to recycle or is actually done. https://www.npr.org/2020/09/11/897692090/how-big-oil-misled-the-public-into-believing-plastic-would-be-recycled...
  8. Celluloid balls are back???

Once people figure out the the current plastic balls are made from a non-renewable resource - crude oil and end up as plastic trash that lingers in the environment, maybe in the far future when ITTF is not as corrupt or is more sensitive to public opinion, we will see the comeback of the...
  9. What non-Butterfly rubbers that have more spin then Dignics 05?

What didn't you like about H3? You tried boosting the H3 at all? Perhaps your blade does not play well with H3 and you need a softer more flexible blade.
  10. Help to find the best rubber

H8-80 is supposed to be softer feeling. You can get hybrid style rubbers from Yinhe like Jupiter 3 Asia and 729 Battle 2 Max Pro in different hardness levels. You can also try boosting your H3.
  11. I bought a spare racket but the feel is different?

Could be due to break in but wood can be inconsistent. Different trees of the same species growing in different environments could vary in hardness and density and other physical properties. You so happened not to win the wood lottery the second time. No harm trying again till you get something...
  12. blade is too head-heavy for me - any tipps?

Yeah, I've met you in person at Swan in the Bay Area on a quiet night once, when you were visiting I think. Don't think you looked that old but it was some time back. I also remember you had a more relaxed style than my attack all the balls style. I guess I'll have to reassemble my heaviest...
  13. blade is too head-heavy for me - any tipps?

I'm surprised you can even play such a heavy setup. You must be quite young and athletic and/or aren't playing very offensively. If my blades go above 90 grams or if the total setup weight above 187 grams or so, it's game over for me pretty quickly.
  14. My setup feels like a literal ROCK after trying this one

"My setup feels like a literal ROCK" - commercial hurricane 3 neo vs Rozena. That is the expected result given the difference in sponge hardness. Try boosting the H3 or switching to a softer rubber. The Fang Bo Carbon blade is also known to be harder/stiffer than it's construction suggests...
  15. Reglue?

Assuming you are talking about regular latex based table tennis glue and not some permanent bond glue used on premade bats, you can use a natural rubber block usually called rubber cement eraser to rub the glue out from the blade and the sponge. I tend to always remove old glue so it does not...
  16. Good FH rubber to pair with Rozena on BH

Fastarc G1 is very popular and a good choice of rubber. It is durable, relatively inexpensive ($30 on sale at tt11) and it performs quite well with the plastic ball. Better spin and speed than the Rozena and more controllable/less spin sensitive than the Tenergy 05. It is what Mima Ito is using...
  17. advice for a blade - low student budget

The problem with T-11+ is not the speed, it's the feel. It feels hard, hollow and like it has no dwell which makes it uncomfortable to make spin with. Most other blades are better for a conventional offensive game. Another blade for you to consider is the Neottec Voodoo Classic, which is what...
  18. Need some racket/rubber advice for returning player

If you are used to Hurricane 3 spin, few rubbers would be good substitutes. There are hybrid rubbers that could come close but H3 it seems like will always be the king of spin. Some pretty standard options for you are H3 NEO and boost it and some ESN or expensive Butterfly rubber or a hybrid...
  19. How to take care of rubbers?

You don't need overpriced table tennis specific sprays and sponges. A drop of plain SLS based liquid soap on a damp dollar store soft car washing sponge cut down to size and wipe, rinse and squeze the sponge under a tap until it is not soapy. Then dry with a soft microfiber fabric covered sponge...
  20. San Francisco looking for training partner.

There's also another possible way to attack the issue besides a bandaid like a knee brace. If you are overweight, it's time to consider cutting out all the simple carbs and reducing the complex ones in your diet to lose weight. If you don't think the extra weight is messing up your game, try...
