  1. I bought some R47 2mm FH and BH to try out on my TB ALC

But it is, give or take one degree of sponge hardness. (ESN 47 roughly equals Butterfly 36). R37 is a super soft rubber, even softer than t05 fx.
  2. If Adidas P7 makes a comeback....

I quite liked it at the time, it was the odd one out of many rubbers too similar for telling them apart, really. But I have moved on and I don´t think I´d go back.
  3. Hard rubber/blade only for pro's?

I agree to the point that hard "tensor" style rubbers and fast, hard blades require skill and much practice. Lower league players often lack at least one of both ... However, hard Chinese style rubbers may be perfect for an allround game with much spin. You could be even well-equipped with...
  4. Stiga DNA Pro Rubbers Review

Good point. In a "sponsored" review, don´t be over-enthused. Don´t put the product down, either - try to figure out who might like it/need it if you don´t. And if there is a quality issue (other than that, there is not really a bad product, just many you don´t find fully convincing) contact...
  5. Best ESN rubber 50 hardness and above

No I meant XT because of the low throw. Besides that, there is no HYPE EL 50 anyway, only Nexxus.
  6. Best ESN rubber 50 hardness and above

This is not as easy as it looks, since Evolution is from "the last generation" and most of the harder rubbers released afterwards are from the "thin topsheet, thick sponge" recipe. From the previous ones, bluefire M1 turbo comes to mind, but I don´t think it would be grippier, and forget about...
  7. Best ESN rubber 50 hardness and above

    Indeed, but only 47.5 degrees.
  8. STIGA DNA Pro

It might be very simple, if DNA was faster than Mantra he might just not need the fastest blade anymore and has "downgraded" to retain the combined speed. But apart from that logic, it is more likely the combination just feels better.
  9. Etiquette question

Make it a habit, don´t think about it. And of course the guy in your example who smashes the ball into the net will ONLY have done so because your lucky shot influenced the rally to go that way ;)
  10. STIGA DNA Pro

I suspect it has something to do with the hardnesses of tenergy05 and 05fx, which translate roughly to these values.
  11. STIGA DNA Pro

Hardnesses as expected, and similar to the Mantra rubbers. Pro players changing from Mantra to DNA mid season a bit questionable. But maybe they´ve been using these for a while but the official information was still Mantra. Who knows.
  12. Thin handle?

It can. Some brands have blades manufactured in three or even more factories/countries and do not follow a general design.
  13. STIGA DNA Pro

Yes. Although the Calibra Tour series were already the beginning of the decline. Irritatingly matt topsheets.
  14. feedback for the rubber required from all respected members.

Exactly. Same topsheet as high performance MX-P, but way softer sponge.
  15. STIGA DNA Pro

That is true. The ones that were good were really good, but they obviously were few. The overall quality of the Astros was better, but the reputation already bad. And so - I can only speak of Germany - the Mantras were overlooked, which is a shame.
  16. STIGA DNA Pro

I remember the first days of the Evolution rubbers, when Tibhar´s clever marketing fooled people into believing they were made in Japan and "not another of the bouncy ESN rubbers." Now, one of the last companies using Japanese technology predominantly releases German made rubbers, and again it...
  17. Coming TTBL Season (2019/2020) looks quite promising

Karlsson (couldn´t play) and Walther (couldn´t play well) injured, Boll too far advanced in Czech Open, Assar participating in African Games.
  18. DHS Goldarc 8 vs Stiga Mantra M

Not sure about that. Played with the 47,5 degree version a while ago and thought it was really good, comparable to bluefire/Evolution and co. But I thought the Mantra M was a different beast altogether, up there with tenergy05 (and quite similar in the Made-in-Japan style playing characteristics).
  19. Apolonia is not using Tenergy on forehand?

I am half sure the guy who wrote that was joking, maybe to make fun of all the speculation, since his list also included a long pips rubber.
  20. new Rubbers or even new Set Up

If you want to play it I´d recommend rubbers that are less bouncy and not quite as fast. Vega Intro is an often made and justified suggestion, as is andro Hexer Duro, and Gewo NeoFlexx 45/48. Living in Germany, you should be able to access them all easily. If you don´t like all wood blades as...
