Chinese fans' commentary on Japan's loss to Iran Oh, for anyone interested, I suggest you guys check out this thread on Zhihu. Some comments delve quite deep into the loopholes in their playstyle and tactics.

This match only proves that: "always work on your forehand". The Koreans prioritize their use of forehand, even in tight situations they can rely on making a forehand kill. Japanese always try to develop the point from the backhand, more pace, less spin and power, less efficiency.

their resume is just too depressing lmao, and tbf HT didn't do much better than them

Just ordered a 729 Cross and a SXZY-3 provincial training for my backhand, thanks to a discount these already cheap rubber just gotten even dirt cheaper lol

all praises to Mr. Miyazaki, raising a cycle of players who are experts at beating none but each other up

if it was Shinozuka, it might have been even worse lol. But this is what happens when you try to rush the young generations and flush all the veterans away. Beside Kishikawa, I haven't seen any other old players in the coaching staff, no inheritance of fighting spirit or experience

What an embarrassing lost, all those interviews, all those "I want to win all the medals and surpass China" should just reduce to "I will do my best to win match by match, point by point"

Some Chinese fans said that they often trains in China, I kind of believe that too since most of their equipment are Yinhe's

North Koreans are incredibly strong even though they have little to none international competition experience

completely agree with u there mate, I think Pro 3 (and other Target rubbers) encourages players to hit the ball first then create spin

one of my friend has bought a Bloom Spin recently and 729 has registered this rubber to ITTF though, I'm ordering a Bloom Arc right now, let's see if this too has been registered or not

Fan ZD made many error but ML was able to pivot a lot of times to avoid backhand exchange, which was the reason to his previous defeats

looking at the singles spots I'm not too positive either, Harimoto is injured, while Maharu's level has declined (but at least I won't be disappointed since he's relatively stable)

hmm, this is really interesting. For instance, I've seen different performances of Togami under Tasei and Mizuno (Meiji Uni.). Togami knows what he needs to do when Mizuno is on the bench. If Tanaka's coach this tournament is his personal, then JTTA should just let Tasei directing doubles match...

he has already passed Wang Chuqin lol, but hope that he'll keep his performance as long as possible

Some fans have voiced their concerns on the competency of coach Tasei on the bench in singles match, how do you guys feel about this?

The timeout on Lin GY side was brilliant, Lin was having trouble with Shinozuka sudden backhand kills but after that he prolonged the BH exchange and win. On a good note, Tanaka wins, avenge for your civil war king fam

brooo this mtfk did not, please revoke his 2nd singles spot for god sake, let Tanaka and Shinozuka go to Paris

Having watched the whole match, there's another aspect that I find about Tanaka, that's his defensive shots are able to win him points. I remembered Mizutani has said that when you compete internationally, you must be able to win even on the defense. Togami emphasizes attacking too much that his...

Right now him and Togami have the most balanced FH and BH in the mens team, but Tanaka is wittier in tactics and have better composure than Togami. They both face against Wang's serve and while Togami struggles, Tanaka was able to flick most of them back.
