The timing is definitely not paced for looping backspin ball. It seems that you do not have/know the correct timing yet. And it is usually better to start with a slower pace than faster one. You can wait until the top of the bounce before you back swing. And hitting too hard is not a good way...

It sometimes depends on how an opponent expresses it, nicely funny way or hostile way. You can see if someone is nice or not with the same way. Most tt players are really nice. some might have a little bigger ego, but most not to the level of annoying.
