  1. How to make table tennis more popular?

The last time I've watched TT on TV was London 2012. I don't think Croatian TV had any table tennis broadcasts since then, not even when Tan Ruiwu made it to ETTC finale. And to think our national network used to do live braodcasts of the European Top 12 (back in the nineties, when Zoran...
  2. How to make table tennis more popular?

Good point. Also, I must say I don't like the camera angle that's become standard in the last decade or so. The camera is centered and in line with the middle line, so the player on the near side obstructs the ball way to often. Also, the depth perception is reduced too, and the arc that ball...
  3. Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain seems to be quite common in table tennis. I heard two guys from my club (both in their late teens) complain about it recently, and lately I've been feeling some mild discomfort in my front deltoid muscle myself.
  4. How to make table tennis more popular?

I don't see how that would raise the sport's popularity, but it IS a good idea none the less. Remember the 2007 WTTC in Zagreb? They did it, and it was great. Atmosphere was phenomenal.

  8. Zhang Jike buys personalised table for $9000!

I used to think Jike was a douche, but I must admit, the guy grew on me.
  9. Zhang Jike and Ma Long Watch Basketball

Perhaps, but I do remember reading about the Chinese flipping out over Wang Hao having a girlfriend back in the day (I wonder if that's the same girl he ended up marrying). No, I don't think China is all that bad either, but it's still a totalitarian society.
  10. Zhang Jike and Ma Long Watch Basketball

What do you guys think, are ZJK and ML really good buddies IRL, or does the CNT make them keep appearances?
  11. penhold or shakehand ?

Which style do you enjoy more? If you're serious about TT, then go with shakehand (lets be honest, penhold is on its way out, has been for over a decade), but ultimately, if TT is your passion, your drug, all that stuff, than chose the style that you find more enjoyable.

  13. Life span of tables?

Happy B-day, TTD! This place has grown into a really nice community, and I hope it continues to grow. Wrong thread, brother. :D Aw, who gives a crap, we're celebrating! Welcome! :D
  15. Life span of tables?

My club still has those old Butterfly Nippon tables, I'm pretty sure they're nearly 20 years old, still in great condition. Some things really ARE built to last. Heck, my parents owned this Toshiba TV set which was supposedly 30 years old when it finally died.
  16. The 'HOPE' of English Table Tennis?

I just don't get how a pro athlete like Liam does nothing nutrition-wise. Most top professional athletes have nutritionists, hired either by them personally, or their clubs. Pitchford desperately needs mass, that means muscle, even some fat. Carbohydrates before training, protein after, and lots...
  17. NEW GREAT TIBHAR/MYTischtennis TUTORIAL

"This video has been removed because its content violated youtube's terms of service"? BTW, Raptor, could you just summarize what the coach is saying? I mean, for us non-german speakers.
