Since I've been recording quite a lot the last 6 months or so I decided to put together a small compilation. Incidentally I also had some recordings from around the time I started playing which I put in there. Funny the way I saw table tennis back then compared to now. I really had no clue at all.

Poor Koki :(. What can he do?

It would be interesting to hear people's thoughts on what "greatest" means to them. What do people think? What's the most important factor for a player to be the greatest? If we changed it to most dominant player of all time who are the other contenders than ML? I don't know this btw, I don't...

I've not been following TT for that long so I'm a bit biased towards Ma Long, I wasn't there when he had his mental struggles or when the other greats were playing (though I'm a big fan of Waldner). ML's beautiful style of play, dominance and character are a few things that make him my FOAT...

I'll go with Sam Walker.

God I love ML.. how can someone dislike this man? As much as I wanted Mattias to win ML deserves this so much. I don't get one of the posts above. Should China just stop trying and give away points for free? No.. we need to keep working harder if we want to break the chinese dominance. It has...

Don't know what's more impressive Boll at 38 or Harimoto at 15 reaching the final.. ;)

I agree but I brought that up as a sidenote. The way it is at the moment, everyone loses. Amateur player's will get annoyed with each other because they see others serving illegally, most don't care of course, but still. Pro player's might get unlucky with the umpire and have to change their...

It's basically what Fruitloop says. We can't have some umpires being strict on the serves and some not. The player's will try to get their serves as close to legal as possible and if no one tells them except very few umpires then it's game ruining. It is difficult when it's their career and...

Agreed, I don't know if it's one umpire in particular or several of them. He was calling all of Truls' punch serves so he couldn't do that anymore and he was calling lots of other players serves. Just let them play.. it ruins the game. They need to revise the service rule instead of introducing...

Mattias Falck is an amazing player.. I don't get how you can say this. Like the above poster said he's WR 15 and has beaten several top players like Lin Gaoyuan for example. I'm curious if this really is typical of Harimoto. Could you mention several of much lower ranked players Harimoto has...

Great match and great sportsmanship by Harimoto letting Mattias have that point even though it wasn't clear whether it was an edge or not. I'm sure many players would hesitate to give that point away.

It's a small world, my driving instructor went to the same high school as him. She said everyone in class adored him.

I always feel like smaller venues are faster and spinnier, does anyone else feel that? When I played local league in the UK I played in so many strange venues.. once in a barn where there were cows and we played in the room or attic above/next to them. I remember picking the ball up when it...

Agreed 100%. People often seem to equate trick type stuff to being a good player or that they can just do that stuff because they are good players. Someone could practice that stuff and seem very impressive but not be that good at the table.. and vice versa. A pro who's never practiced those...

Yeah he seems like an incredible player, I would love to see him live. When I was visiting Spårvägen in Stockholm one of the guys told me he's very humble too. One of them just went up to him while he was practicing serves and asked if he could try receiving, which he was fine with.

Pretty sure Aida uses Mark V on both sides.. correct me if I'm wrong.

Haha, complete opposite to me now! I used to love playing matches in the UK because that's all I did, never did drills until a year and a half ago. But now that I get to do it I love exhausting myself in practice, I just need more practice partners who enjoy it as much as I do ;) I played in...

At least knowing is a start for the stuff I need to work on. It's quite nice knowing what I need to do more and less of, but doing it consistently is a different story. It's the opposite for me right now. I get to practice quite a lot but league matches are infrequent. I miss playing local...

I am exactly the same.. I just see all the things I could do better, especially lately as I've become more aware of what I should be doing differently. I'm naturally too hard on myself.
