Do you happen to know why they were reviewing the Rio trio (LXX, DN, LSW) instead of the Tokyo candidates? https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL7mDcpZ4nKGk1hqaH2p1VFZaM4KvdGgrs&time_continue=3&v=BmqYjHMxIj8 Seems like Ito thinks that LXX is the most imposing, DN most stable and LSW possessing...

I was mainly talking about XD since she has already gotten that spot formally and what it means if her injuries persist. Of course that will have implications for Singles selection as well but 1 year is a long time away so I wouldn't bother too much about it at the moment. On the two 2018...

Wells, seems like LSW is not recovering as smoothly as hoped. Wouldn't discount her yet since the Olympics is still a long time away but if CNT does try a new pairing (no DN/FZD again please), perhaps it's a sign that LSW's injuries are rather serious.

With WTTTC moved to 2021, the possibility of a 7-event (WS, WD, MS, MD, XD, MT, WT) competition seems even higher now?

CNT conducted another round of internal trials to boost the players' competitiveness. Men – Team Event 1st – Ma Long, Wang Chuqin, Fang Bo 2nd – Xu Xin, Liang Jingkun, Xu Haidong 3rd – Lin Gaoyuan, Xu Chenhao, Zhou Yu, Zhao Zihao 4th – Fan Zhendong, Zhou Qihao, Yan An, Xiang Peng Women –...

Borow raised his brow after hearing Steve's predictions because his favourite "Queen of Hearts" wasn't chosen. Totally made my day. On a side note, I read that Yoshihito Miyazaki recently voiced his thoughts about the CNT possibly changing up their Olympics lineup (seems like JTTA was quite...

Senpai: Nani?

She could start with the W.J. Pope Trophy to even the tally for a bit among the six core players.

Wells, one common critique levelled towards CM is that she tends to warm up to matches slower than the others, which she thinks so herself too. Besides, best of 3 matches allegedly favour those whose playing styles are more speed-oriented as they tend to get into the rhythm faster, which is...

No videos to show (from me at least) but the CNT held an internal competition recently. Results from the men's team were predictable but not so much for the women, although the rules also differed for both. Men's Team 1. Fan Zhendong 2. Ma Long 3. Xu Xin 4. Lin Gaoyuan 5. Xu Chenhao 6. Liang...

I don't think Ito fears CM, it's just a bad match-up that will take some time to get used to and overcome. While short pips users has surely benefitted from the plastic ball (weaker spin compared to the past), heavy rotation (particularly underspin) is still what limits short pips from working...

So... WTTC becomes like ATTC? Team, Singles, Doubles, XD. Sorry, more like back to before 2001.

The Olympics is likely to be cancelled anyways, makes no sense to stay any longer. I guess the old guards will retire after National Championships next year.

CM: How many bananas do I have to eat to so that I can maintain my very physical game at 30 years old? 34 seems unlikely for me... right?

What's the big fuss over WR though? There's only one Gold medal so only the player who is most on-form during the Olympics would take it. She would simply have to take down whoever she is matched with. It would be an extremely honourable win for Ito if she is able to defeat two Chinese women...

CM: Fine, I'll settle for a Grand Smash. Winning four Opens a year is my thing anyways.

Japan commences "Save Harimoto" project lol?

Exhibition match between Zhang Jike and Hou Yingchao coming up on 18 April. As far as I know, it's not gonna be adopting the usual 11-point format (could be wrong though). Seems interesting. I have no access to zhibo.tv (looks at zeio).
