  1. Should i choose STIGA Clipper?

Some sharing to this Clipper Classic interest group : - I have the Clipper Classic in the past, was my second blade. I switched to the Rosewood V for more than 3 years and on a good progress to up my stroke power and spin, until one day I injured my elbow (epicondylitis). During recovery, I...
  2. World Tour Grand Finals 2014 - completely without the chinese!

The lighting at this Grand Final was quite bad. Only the table area was spot-lighted. when the players were far from table they were almost back lighted in shadow when appeared on TV camera. I hope ITTF can do a better setup with the country organizer the next time for such grand event !

  5. FH Drive technique question

Stiga has these great training videos featuring China National Team. One of which is on Forehand Drive technique : The narrator's instruction is that : "when driving against back-spin ball one should use more hitting action, whereas against top-spin ball should use more rubbing action."...
  6. Harmony China Open 2013 - ITTF World Tour

M QF underway now. Xu Xin not used to Zhang Jian's FH pips - 2:2 now. btw Xu Xin no longer using Rosewood V? Seems liked he is using the new Stiga Intensity ? Can't tell if is the wood or carbon version.
  7. How often to re-glue rubber ?

I use Stiga Rosewood V with HK3 Neo on FH and T64 on BH, with Nittaku Finezip water-based glue. Recently during a practice session I realized the FH side sound muted and need to hit extra hard than usual to have the impact sound. The return blocking also net frequently. Friends advised that I...

  11. Ding Ning Serve - Illegal?

Absolutely agreed. In such an important match at such high standard, perhaps one warning of calling let would be good enough to deliver the message. A repeated intervention plus the double penalty points was way way over-killed, and had ruined the game completely ! No doubt LiXX was undeniably...
  12. FH Rubbers for Rosewood 5, need some idea

You are right, I am kind of on the borderline with S3 right now. On BH it is about right for my still learning stroke. When I flip S3 side to FH compare to H3 it does not feel right. I might try S2 on BH sometime later too.
  13. FH Rubbers for Rosewood 5, need some idea

Similar experience, took me a while to find my preferred rubber hardness on RW5. I tried H3 on 40 degree and 39 degree, settled with the later. Also tried BH on Sriver EL, but didn't workout than S3. I think RW5 has a hard surface but the core has more flex. So it is not linear. My guess it...
  14. FH Rubbers for Rosewood 5, need some idea

You may want to try just changing the BH to a lighter rubber to see if it may help reduce the weight ? I use H3 Neo 39 degree hardness (china domestic version) for FH and Acuda S3 on BH on my RW5 & enjoying every stroke. Blade weight is 91g, total with rubbers = 182g.
  15. Rosewood V worth it ?

I didn't play Ebenholz V before. I had tried it just bouncing ball on a bare blade. Compare to Rosewood V it felt a little harder at the surface. From some review in the web it is said to be slightly stiffer than rosewood (less springy) but not as stiff as Clipper. My guess is it may give more...
  16. calibra on clipper

  18. Hungarian Open 2012 - ITTF World Tour

Too bad the Japanese team are absent.
  19. Rosewood V worth it ?

I think Clipper series is a hard and very fast blade. It's surface is slightly soft (limba wood) but with very stiff core (make of Ayous wood) due to the 7 layers structure. Can be a very powerful weapon but very demanding to do it right. The WRB is a handle design that has a hollow area that...
