Its very fast with not much dwell time, however it is easy to adjust the spin and speed of your shots, a very very crisp feeling compared to the high vibration of the W968
  2. Xiom Vega Korea Review

It seems this may be to the extreme tensor technology applied to the rubber, maybe when the edges of it go under stress it simply splits because it has a large amount of pressure squeezing it inwards. Also maybe the particular rubber they used in this top sheet to achieve such catapult is more...
  3. stubborn in disobedience of the rules. Bad example to follow.

Haha the contrary, South Island Championships was on yesterday and the day before and I had to call an enormous amount of illegal serves. Mostly older players though which is to be expected as they find it harder to change their technique over time.
  4. stubborn in disobedience of the rules. Bad example to follow.

Ah come down to Table Tennis Canterbury for a tournament, we have a lot of older ITTF umpires and a few newly qualified ones such as myself and my brother, we are only level 2 though but we do have a few level 3 umpires here.
  5. stubborn in disobedience of the rules. Bad example to follow.

I'm probably a bit late to joining this thread but i was watching a Liang Jingkun game at durban and I thought it was remarkable how many serves that if were done at the local club I would call out for being illegal. He hit almost all of the serves while the ball was over the table.
  6. Xiom Vega Korea Review

I tried someone's Korea sheet at the club yesterday, they had the rubber in the blue colour, I found the rubber had more catapult than most other rubbers I have tried, the ball just pinged off the rubber. I found that I couldn't get as much spin as normal with this rubber as I prefer a slightly...
  7. Xiom Vega Korea Review

This sounds like a rubber Id definitely like to try, also @yogi_bear would we be able to get a review of the Cho Daesong blade? I'd love to hear more about that blade especially if you can compare it to the An Jaehyun TMXi blade.
  8. Illegal long pips are actually very fun to play against.

No not at all, not by any means, by it satisfying you I merely meant that you now know who played those three games that Tony was referring to. I do agree with you there is a distinct lack of male choppers in the top ranked players, I looked through them when looking for the matches Tony was...
  9. Illegal long pips are actually very fun to play against.

I must admit when I wrote that I wasnt being entirely serious either, I figured that you were being sarcastic when you said it and so I went along with it. Lets have a look at those rankings that Tony said and also what games they were. I have searched through for all the possible people he...
  10. Need advice for buying my second bat.

Hey Tony, do you know Gregg Davey? He is the main equipment supplier for the South Island, he is based in Canterbury, I also play for Canterbury, he gives me discounts for my equipment. But to Big Fan I don't think you really can go wrong, it sounds like you are still learning a few shots so...
  11. What's the most random point you have ever scored?

In my answer to the question I've won a few weird points over the years but this was most recent, however I lost this point. It was a loop-to-loop rally going back and forth for quite a few shots, full spin and speed and everything then my opponent managed to pull of an almost exact replica of...
  12. What's the most random point you have ever scored?

Interesting rule in table tennis but if this ball went above the height of the stadium lights then that is not your point but your opponents.
  13. Illegal long pips are actually very fun to play against.

I should like to say at 17 years of age I am one of the young people on this forum, and I can easily see why younger people wouldn't be too interested in joining this forum because it has become less about asking questions about table tennis and more about egotistic debates on who can play the...
  14. Illegal long pips are actually very fun to play against.

This is exactly mine and James Z's point of view in this I feel, people don't like having to use better tactics and moving their feet more to perform more difficult shots.
  15. Illegal long pips are actually very fun to play against.

I find this comparison unjust as for each of those examples you compared using these pips to something else doing all the thinking and playing for you where as you still need to be able to play pretty damn good table tennis to excel using this equipment. Yes this rubber may be more difficult to...
  16. Illegal long pips are actually very fun to play against.

It happens often at my club, we have a few under 19 choppers that are extremely good that often play each other, usually they just chop back and forth and the ball floats along with virtually no spin on it until one one them hits it too high and then SMASH that ball is flying into the next...
  17. Illegal long pips are actually very fun to play against.

I was waiting for James Z's reply however I thought it would be a positive reply to Tony and not a massive heaping pile of sarcasm towards Blahness, however i find that i also disagree with Blahness. Illegal long pips players may be able to block a full top spin loop while standing on one spot...
  18. Opinions on xiom omega VII rubbers

In the Omega VII rubber series, the rubbers I have a lot of experience with are Hyper, Asia, Pro, and Europe. Hyper is an extremely hard rubber (60 degrees) that plays like a hybrid rubber, it is relatively fast and has very low hitting angle, however it is very good for looping those short...

I did not particularly enjoy the cybershape carbon either, aside from the odd feeling in my hand and the odd handle shape i did not like, the playing qualities are very unusual, i found it was a very very fast blade however it felt like it kicked the blade back in my hand and had a lot of dwell...

The cybershape actually has a much narrower shape towards the bottom of the blade, my brother has one so I have experience with it, so you could to this and transfer the rubber from the cybershape onto a normal shaped blade but the rubber wouldnt cover the entire surface of the blade at the bottom.
