Do players like Dimitri change their equipment due to sponsorship with other brands?

I got some news from early 2020 that Dimitrij Ovtcharov had signed a partnership with Butterfly (one of the biggest table tennis brands). If he now sponsors Butterfly, does he change his equipment (blade or rubber)? For example, Dimitrij's blade is Donic Ovtcharov Senso. Does he change his blade or does he keep it because he had adapted to it?

(im just curious. this thought just came up to my head)

Butterfly will just make a blade very similar to what he is used to and maybe come up with a model named after him. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=180217766538639 at 1:45

Pretty sure he has a custom blade by Butterfly that he is testing. He said that in an interview with Butterfly, but it could totally be a lie. It depends on the player though, some just switch their blade's handle to a sponsor blade handle and others choose a new blade. I think for most pros, they wouldn't want to change their blade so easily.

Most pros who are sponsored by Butterfly use Butterfly equipment.

Most pros who are sponsored by other companies that are not Butterfly still seem to use some Butterfly equipment. Not all, but a large percentage use something from Butterfly (usually not everything though) even when they are sponsored by a different company.

One more thing. Some pros use the same equipment for years and years. Some pros change over and over. Just like us: some pros EJ and some do not.

There was a point where, in the span of a few years Ma Long went from using from 2 or 3 different all Wood Nittaku blades (one of them was an Acoustic) to a Timo Boll Spirit, to a Timo Boll ALC to an all wood DHS blade that was a Clipper Clone, to several different DHS ALC blades before he settled on the W968 that he uses now.

There have been periods where Dima used a different blade every few months also.

So some pros definitely do experiment with equipment. And there are definitely some pros out there who do not change equipment almost ever.
