That means needs to whine about the calendar. Don't deny them one less thing to whine about.
And it seems the said whiner does not know the danger behind proposing that "more than 10 MA taking part" requirement. Completely illogical. 典型青鳥思維。

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_relations_of_Taiwan
As of January 2024, the ROC has formal diplomatic relations with 11 of the 193 United Nations member states and with the Holy See, which governs the Vatican City State.[3]

...

As international recognition of the ROC continues to dwindle concurrently with the PRC's rise as a great power, ROC foreign policy has changed into a more realistic position of actively seeking dual recognition with the PRC.[7] For consistency with the one China policy, many international organizations that the ROC participates in use alternative names, including "Chinese Taipei" at FIFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), among others.[8]

When talking quality, lets check this out.

Check this event last year in USA

U19 boys singles,
26 entries....
16 from USA, total of 8 countries (with some of the non USA players living in the USA).

U19 girls singles,
11 entries....
USA had 6, Canada 3, Philippines 1 (lives in USA) and 1 player from Taiwan that flew in to win it.

2nd USA
U19BS - 33 entries (usa x 15)
U19GS - 10 entries

3rd USA
U19BS - 32 entries (usa x 12, canada x 10)
U19GS - 11 entries

Compared to these 2 events

Hong Kong

U19BS - 52 entries
U19GS - 48 entries

Austria
U19BS - 86 entries
U19GS - 58 entries

so last year USA had 3 youth events, and they probably did very well for it to become 7 events in 2025.
I'm eager to see what the 2026 number is.
and the above is only "entries" or participants, we haven't even talked about playing level quality.

PS. USA Smash 2025 was supposed to also include youth smash, but that was removed.

No wonder CTTTA has never hosted a WTT event, not even the Youth series. ROFL

yep, so that is why Taiwan only host 1 event. Quality first.

this is what you have:
U19 BS (10 MA)
HKG 8
IND 1
IRN 1
JPN 12
KOR 12
MAL 5
SGP 8
THA 8
TPE 16
USA 1

Total entries, 72 players

just look at the amount of quality in the entry list.

Are you seriously trying to compare USA 7 to TPE 1 in terms of quality?
You really loosing brain cells if that is your intention. I think you should spend less time on the computer and more time with actual human beings - face to face and network a bit

BTW, so many coaches are asking me, when Taiwan will resume hosting, as they love visiting Taiwan.

Many players have more then headache too many injuries they try to hide.
some players just give up and just let the world ranking tank, and they will just come back before the olympics and build up participation and by doing so, the ranking points.
The way they talk about it, it is just so sad.

They said it is no use doing "busy" one year, and not busy the next, so rather, 1.5 every 4 years for olympics.

So many players I know now are married, have kids, and being away from the spouse and kids are just so much more difficult nowadays.

A European based player, told me, from World Champs build up, he was away from home for about 2.5 months and he is taking the rest of the year off, because its just too tiring traveling non stop. I'm sure his ranking will tank too.
There is a trick - don't let it drop out side top 100, so they can still play Smash....

And, yes, the injury factor without good rest or even time for treatment (how many non Asian pros travel with no support staff, no medical staff....)
So many of the players told me, Champions 2 off... its okay, but its not the solution to the on going problem of trying to keep up with the world ranking.

I couldn't agree more to your post! It is indeed a grinder being on the top.

Even more risk of injury and even more empty seats.🤦‍♂️
empty seats indeed and there isn't much push, or budget available to really attempt to full it up.

wait till the financial statement on how much the host cities are burning/loosing, for a mere few home players, playing.

btw. some of the youth tours accommodation is the worse
160 usd a night and you end up in a "student" dorm (2 years straight in the same location....)
not even a proper hotel.

and then there is some events where there isn't shuttle services, you need to book your own taxis.

someone is making a lot of money and some one is also loosing a money, and it isn't only the players loosing out.

but yeah, the keyboard warriors like zeio and shine who wants to defend wtt, probably has never even been on tour ever before.

There is a reason why players are not happy, and it seems like there is only 32 players in WTT, and people tend to forget about the 100+ others, that earns nothing from WTT, but contributes to WTT profitability, in other words, the 80+% of players, funding the prize money for less than 20% of the players.

I actually feel that players should focus more on leagues, and skip feeders totally - a lot of players do that already.
PS. feeders 1st place earning can't even cover the entry fees. Youth events is even worse.
hence the call of quality over quanity

another player has informed me that she won't be talking part in any more traveling for Nov/Dec
a Top 50 ranked player.

instead has asked me to arrange sparing partners during her time off from traveling.

since shine and zeio (can't remember who is who) can't read, herewith the quote by the player:

"I am planning to rest during November and December from tournaments, Too exhausting to keep going like that continuously, especially that I book flights, and manage schedules and so on"

I'm hoping I don't need to provide a sworn statement too.

Rather interesting and revealing that Official Table is yet to be determined at this point in time, unlike for EUR GS (DFish) and CHN GS (DHS).

Maybe the same delay as last year. Joola tables were a last minute thing as the previous table sponsor pulled out.

Would be surprised if it isn't JOOLA, and announced soon, to avoid the mess that occurred last year.
