Hi Barbara, welcome to the forum and more importantly, can I buy you a drink:) I am thinking about upgrading my equipment as well. My Palio Chopper 1 has a very small handle for my big hands. I have tried a few BTF racquets and I find that they have much larger and comfortable flared handles. It's night and day! The surface area of the BTF paddles that I have tried are greater than the chinese equivalents. Perhaps its due to our tariff policies:) All joking aside, how is the service receive with your paddle? Does your Palio or Dawei rubbers react to spin? I myself can not read spin unless it regards an electron. Regards.

Hi WheatBeers,
I'm not experienced enough to give you a proper answer, but I'll try based on my experience.

First of all I believe that you can get along with any rubber, you just have to know it and, above all, learn the technique, as many say in this wonderful forum, but...
The Palio is a good racket, at least I found it comfortable, but I must say I prefer the BTF, I find it more controllable and faster. I haven't tried my Stiga AllRound Classic with Dawei Super Power rubber enough to give feedback on it, it's really too slow for me.

The rubbers on the Palio Master 2 are the CJ8000, quite tacky, with good spin. I find them slower than the current Rozena, but I had no problems with my game (including spin) and I made progress with this racket. I also had no problems "adjusting" my technique when switching from Chinese rubbers to the current ones.

Just last night I practiced receiving serves with a lot of spin and the BTL performed very well, I don't know if this is due to the rubbers or my reading/receiving of the spin, but I had no major problems once I figured out how to respond. When trying chopped serves, the ball spins and spins a lot, and it does the same with topspin.
Do I recommend the upgrade?
Yes, I don't regret it now, especially since the Rozena are said to have a long lifespan (I'll let you know) so I can enjoy the racket for a while without worrying about wear.

However, if you have large hands (which is not really my case) you might find the Korbel in particular not very suitable, the handle is not very thick, but this can be easily solved (just search around the Web). I recommend the Korbel if you want a slightly larger racket, as we go from the standard 157x150mm to 158x152mm.

I hope I answered your question!

Well I tried the Dawei rubbers... they are heavy:) They played well for the time I have been acclimated to the characteristics of inverted rubber. The spin opens up so many possibilities especially for winning points outright on service. I was wondering about the complete opposite material - antispin. Would anyone like to elaborate on the merits of Anti Spin rubber and if these particular rubbers receive spin better than long pimples? Thank you kindly.
