I agree with MDP. The setup is fine for the poly ball. Truthfully, the 40+ Poly ball doesn't really need a different setup than the 40mm celluloid ball.

If you are having trouble with it with the Poly ball, it may be just getting used to it. How long have you been playing with the poly ball?

Any issues playing with it?

Or, have you just not played with it yet? It is out for over 1.5 years. So hopefully you have used it.

I am playing with the plastic ball for more than 1 month now and i find it difficult to spin with the Donic JP 01...the poly ball does not have much grip as the celluloid ball used to have

How about the R7? Does that one feel like it spins well enough?

You might just want something with more spin for your FH. It could be one of the more spinny versions of BlueFire. It could be Evolution MX-P, Tenergy 05. If it isn't too slow for you, maybe Donic Baracuda.

R7 is good stuff. What about using it on both sides.

Also, it sounds like the JP 01 might be worn out and the topsheet may have lost its grip. But R7 should be good for the both sides.

Rather than changing the rubber, make sure you're using a good plastic ball first.

Nittaku 2-star and 3-star balls that are made in japan is so far the spinniest plastic ball i've yet to try. Its size is also really similar to the celluloid balls. However at times the balls would dip on topspins.

XSF is a good cheaper option, it has less spin with overall higher bounce

Another good one is probably Butterfly G40+ although i've tried it yet

I have recently bought both rubbers and with the poly ball JP01 is not doing too good. Am thinking of a replacement but i am still thinking..any advice?

Plus i want to upgrade my setup with some rubbers more adapted to the new plastic ball

R7, FX-P, EL-P, MX-P, Victas V>01, Tenergy. Are all very spinny rubbers.

My suggestion is to get the nittaku balls that are made in japan.

Butterfly made in china balls are just a normal chinese seamed plastic balls and they are simply terrible.

I dont think you need to change your rubbers, bluefire and rakza are great rubbers. Heck, most tensor rubbers are great

I believe the only rubber I mentioned that is marked as being made for the Poly ball is Victas. But I don't see much that is different between rubbers that are said to be made for the Poly ball and rubbers that were not. The ones that get the best spin are the ones that get the best spin.

But laistrogian has a very good point. All the seamed poly balls that come from China are really bad. The Butterfly G-40+, the Nittaku ball from Japan (premium) the Seamless balls are all better and the Nittaku balls are easiest to spin.

See what happens if you use some good balls.

Fair enough. And if R7 works for you when you flip it around, then you at least know that the rubber works so it is a safe bet. But all of the others I listed should be good too.
