Andro NUZN 48 Review: Faster and More Dynamic Than NUZN 45, But Still Controllable

I was using Tibhar hybrid MK 2.0 on my BH, I like the control, slightly sticky and easy to open of the rubber, but for my the price does not judge, durability is poor. I am looking for a replacement. Do you think NUZN 48 is a good replacement? Does N48 feel softer than the rated hardness like MK? Or I should look for N45 instead ? my priority is BH to BH drive ball placement accuracy, and decent easiness of opening loop. My opponents do not generate very heavy backspin in general so opening loop is not very demanding.

Good question, I get it asked a lot (which actually means I should probably make a guide on it haha) but in essence, both rubbers are similar in a way yes, the main differences are:

- The MK as you say is based on control and easiness of use because it is more linear and has less high end gear explosion, but it has the durability issue indeed
- The NUZN 48 is harder to use and more demanding, not too much, but yes a bit more, it has less linearity and more explosion, you will feel less safe but will get better shots, that's more or less the thing here.

I'd say if you want safety the 45 may fit you better, but then it may be too soft, although I have to say that MK hybrid also feels pretty soft, softer than what they say imo. 45 is also very easy to open up loops and control, it has a bit higher throw than 48 and a bit shorter flight

I have the feeling also that Andro introduced the HY-Q as an easier to use NZUN 48, and probably and answer to the MK Haven't tried it yet but from the recent TTD's video (https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/fo...hybrid-rubbers-andro-hy-q-42-48-review.40048/) I get that feeling!

The recipe is quite different and so are the characteristics.
Overall, HY-Q offers stability and ease-of-use with a sticky topsheet, but it feels most at home close to the table, although it has enough power as can be witnessed in the TTDD video.
NUZN is closer to the "normal" Tensor feeling with more catapult and speed, but due to the Hybrid characteristics even its only slightly sticky surface offers the safety in passive play and service reception that some people cannot get from a medium/medium hard Tensor.

An easier to use NUZN 48 would quite probably not be a Hybrid at all

I think the three (four)* series could roughly be described as this:
NUZN = High end rubber (50 + 55), also available with reduced power (45 + 48)
HY-Q = First time hybrid rubber as a step up from rubbers like Hexer
Chintac = very sticky for lovers of Chinese feeling, as an alternative to boosted Chinese rubbers

*Shall not forget Plasma 500, but that I´ve never tried

Amazing info thanks @Airoc , this is the context I'm missing because I havent tested Hy-Q and Chintac, but I will soon

I really like nuzn for the tensor hybrid category, in fact I have recommended it now to a bunch of players I helped and they were all happy and improving results, they all came from faster tensors for the record.

So thanks again and let's see when I test what I can tell you all on those

Great comparison. NUZN 48 is very tempting and I wouldn't go back to MK purely for price / durability reason. At the same time I am also checking HY-Q 48. Its between NUZN and HY-Q. I am looking for more feedback for HY-Q since its relatively new. At the same time holding on for Black Friday deals.

You could also replace the Rakza 7 on your BH with an HY-Q 42°, for example...

You could also replace the Rakza 7 on your BH with an HY-Q 42°, for example...

I am actually planning to replace my G-1 1.8 with HY-Q 48 or NUZN 45/48. 42 is too soft for me

HY-Q 42° for your BH, not your FH.
I was also torn between a Nuzn 48° and a HY-Q 48° because I’m already playing with a NUZN 45° on my forehand, but I reckon the HY-Q 48° will suit me better. (The fact that the N48° has a lower arc than the N45° also put me off buying it)
Perhaps we’ll fit the 45° to the backhand, otherwise it’ll be a brand-new HY-Q 42°, which we’re already playing with on my backhand.
