Unfortunately, I have not found any alternatives to the sticky chinese rubber for the forehand, and I have even returned to H3 as my main rubber. On the other hand, I still cannot find any chinese alternatives to the euro and japan rubbers for the backhand. It's a draw so far.

I currently use the Orange Sponge version, after a quick 15 minute test with it on my Surge HC:
It's easier to use than the blue, i think i'll stick with the Hurricanes.
I've used Donic Acudas, Bluefires, Stiga DNA Dragon Power and Platinum, and the Fastarc G1 on the forehand. But none of them give me the feeling that the H3 Neo gives.
I may replace my Hurricane with a G1 on my spare blade since it's a spare, but i'm sticking with the Hurricane now.

Agree. I keep on coming back to Hurricane on the forehand.

Backhand, I keep on coming back to ESN/Japanese rubbers.

The "only" non-hurricane rubber I would replace H3 blue sponge would be Dignics 09c. It is like a well boosted hurricane, except that in the short game, D09c is still a bit more catapulty than H3 so I ended up going back to H3. I have tried playing with D09c on my BH, it feels pretty good there.

I have three main blades. All with H3 on the forehand. On BH side, I have T19, D09c and MX-S installed. Surprisingly, I play the best with MX-S. I really like D09c on the backhand side too but when I am out of practice, MX-S is better.

I think D09c comes closest, Timo Boll wanted a rubber to compete with the Chinese spin and tack and that's what he helped develop.
Also the ESN hybrids have poor longevity. A good D09c sheet can last 6 months with no issue.
