Anyone can compare Tibhar Ellen Offense to Yasaka AntiPower?

I am exploring the magical world of antispin and enjoying it here a lot so far. I started with Nittaku Best Anti but it was so slow, felt risky hitting the ball hard enough to get it to the net, much less deep in the other side. Now for a month or two I use AntiPower and I am starting to get used to it and have good results. Which in the logic of junk rubber EJ, means it is time to experiment with something else, before I get too good with the Yasaka and lose my EJ privileges.

I was looking for a more offensive anti than the AntiPower, and Ellen Offense seems from the write-up to be aiming for that. Has anyone out there in ForumLand tried both and can give me a preview what to expect when my crispy new EJ purchase arrives on Wednesday?

I can attest just how slow Nittaku Best Anti is. While I've found that anti at least for me is best played closer to the table vs off (if off, I prefer long pips), my goodness I have to hit the ball hard to get it back over the table. But I do like how much it changes pace close to the table in comparison to when I hit inverted.

I switch between TPB inverted most of the time with the occasional RPB anti.

Anyways, I can't seem to get Nittaku Best Anti in stock around in my area anymore but there's plenty of Butterfly Super Anti around.

I find it plays pretty similar but Super Anti isn't nearly as slow (but it's still slower) as Best Anti. For that reason I might slightly prefer Super Anti. Based on my limited experience, if you were to say "give me Best Anti exactly the same but a little faster." I'd say Super Anti is exactly what you're looking for then.

You'll have to tell me more what you think of AntiPower.

I didn't give the Best Anti a long trial, but for me AntiPower is much more playable. I am close to the table playing almost a short pips defense style with it. Best anti I had to hit so hard just to get across, it felt uncontrollable despite being the slowest rubber ever. Blocks would also die in the net unless active, which is risky. Antipower I can block passively and make a nasty half-long low dead ball. I am not chop blocking so I don't get much reversal or wobble. But tons of safety and control, and a ball the opponent does not want or often see.

These are the only two antis I tried, so my experience is very small. Guess Ellen offense is even less used than these two. I hope it will make hits even easier and nastier. I will accept less safety on blocks in exchange.

Sounds like my experience I have with super anti then. Same thing. Not a ton of reversal, easy to play, control is high.

That's what I ultimately didn't like about long pips. Yes the reversal was super high, but there were strict rules I had to follow depending on the incoming ball... Vs topspin? always chop-block. Vs backspin? bump.

With Super anti I have a lot more freedom in what choose to do. vs topspin? chop block, somewhat more careful counter so long as I don't close the face too much? I can do that. The spin I'm giving back differences are subtle. So far I'm liking it.

Wow, I am never, ever using water-based glue again. Rubber cement is better in every way for 1/4 the price. Plus I'm a little high now from the fumes.

In other news, the Tibhar Ellen comes with a protection sheet Must be to prevent anything sticky from getting on there and making it spinny. Nice touch.

Not yet tried it (on order), but DMS has a new pips out rubber with anti-like properties that you can hit with like pips out called Wildfire. There are a few videos out there showing its properties. Might be worth an EJ try.

Please share your experience with this Tibhar rubber, especially how it compares to YAP. I'm also curious about other antis.
On the other hand, as a long-time anti player (YAP), I've been thinking about switching to mid or long pips. With the new plastic balls, I feel like grippy antispins just aren't as effective as they used to be.

This new DMS rubber looks like it could be a good option for making the transition, but I'll wait a bit longer for more reviews before jumping into it, I already have too many rubbers piling up as it is.

It is a lot faster. But I also got the 1.5 only bc 2.0 was sold out. This may have been a mental error similar to choosing a restaurant with no wait over one with a long line. I forgot thicker anti sponges are actually slower than thin. Oops.

I have only played once with Ellen offense, too soon to comment. I can only say it blocks spinny loops amazing, and the hit is faster and therefore harder to control than YAP. Otherwise it plays about the same so far. Really wish I was comparing two thick sponges against each other though. May have to lay out another $27.
