Asymmetrical blades

Why have manufacturers like Gewo, Andro, Tibhar, and Yinhe recently started producing asymmetrical blades? Why would someone who can afford to buy two different rubbers choose to use such a product?

You may as well ask why someone would play inner carbon vs outer carbon in the first place. If rubber alone made the difference, everyone would use the same generic blade.

To answer your question, though, as someone who uses an asymmetrical blade: you get better hand feel and short game, and dwell without needing a soft rubber from the inner carbon; and easier power from the outer carbon for backhand exchanges near the table. I can play outer carbon on FH but I don't love it. I cannot play inner carbon on BH with any real quality. The Yinhe Pro 11s caters to what I like about both. I just wish the handle were the same size as their other blades...I don't know why this one is smaller.

Novelty and trends J suppose. A lot of bh dominant players like using outer and a lot of forehand dominant players like using inner. IIRC before Jorgic (idk if he actually does use his namesake assymetrical blade?) the last really good player to use an asymmetrical composition was Kong Linghui back in the early 00's but that blade was never commercially available

I am using an asymmetrical blade, Joola vyzaryz hybrid. I am using it because ı wanted to have a really insane backhand and balanced fh.

Thank you for your valuable comments. If I ever want to use asymmetrical blades, I would prefer the outer carbon on the backhand and the inner carbon on the forehand, but I don't know why manufacturers like Tibhar and Gewo do the opposite.

Kokutaku have been making blades with carbon on one side for decades. I borrowed one. Was interesting. I don't think it's a useless product. Feel is not just about the rubber right? It's not for me but especially for combo bat players I can really see the utility in this.
