Blade 1st layer wood falling off (doomed)

so the rubber and blade is fine but i think the glue i used was a lil too strong and sticked to the blade very strong, when removing it will just peel off the 1st layer of wood along the rubber, i didn’t peel all the way down just to test removing the rubber, my blade is doomed when changing rubbers, how long will the rubbers last? Rozena BH and Mantra H FH, im basically forced to buy a new blade with rubbers f.

idk if my dhs blade was a faulty one but it was authentic as i checked the hologram on the handle. unless i wanna play a 6ply Alc blade lol

This often happens to unsealed blades with softer outer plys. Best way right now would be to used chemical treatment to soften the glue before peeling the rubbers off, and glue the wood splinters back in place afterwards. You would then want to sand the surface even before applying 1-2 layers of sealant.

Show a picture of the disaster.

Exactly what Tacky said, common occurrence with unsealed blades.
What glue did you use?
I've had that issue once when someone else glue rubbers for me, I don't know what glue they used, Tibhar something or other.
I've not had this issue when using DHS no15 glue, I find it excellent.
In any case it's worth sealing your blades if they're not factory sealed.
You can try a hairdryer to soften the glue as you slowly peel of the rubber, make sure to peel bottom to top and not left to right.
Solvent to soften the glue could work too of course but be careful it doesn't damage the wood in the process.

I haven’t removed the rubber, just the down logo side a lil bit just to see

If the glue is so strong to lift the top layer of the blade you might as well have some fun .
You will never get the rubbers off intact anyway, especially Rozena, you will end up with half the sponge on the blade and half the sponge still on the rubber.
I would us the unit until it is time to fit new rubbers. Then I would remove the top rubber first then soak the sponge in mineral turpentine for an hour and push it off with a plastic spatula

many would say that this is 100% wrong advise 🤣
Well it's actually a bit diagonally when i do it, starting in bottom left pulling towards top right.
But it's more bottom to top that left to right. Done it a hundred times and not f'd up any blades yet, although that could be more down to the glue and sealing the blade.

The grain goes from top to bottom.
You really pull from left side to right side?

Have you actually done this before and it worked?
I'd imagine it's hard to soak it in turpentine without damaging the wood...

done it many times, especially to rackets that have had rubbers on for many years. Remember there is always the layer of glue there to protect the wood.

I normally lay a thick kitchen paper towel on the sponge, carefully soak it and keep it wet as the turpentine soaks into the sponge. You want to soak it but not flood it.

the blade is doomed if i wanna change rubbers, ill just buy my current set up when my rubbers are dead, never trust cheap glue lol

bottom left to top right is the correct answer. Or 8pm to 2 pm. Something like that. Unless you're left-handed
