When do you know it's time for a new blade or when to upgrade?
I think you should change blade if you are trying to develop a new aspect of your game.

If you are trying to learn to loop well and consistently, I would recommend changing to a Offensive wood blade. Stiga OC and Yasaka Offensive Extra are two often cited blades for example.

Once you got your loop down and you are looking for more power, then I would recommend a inner ALC blade: Long 5 and Harimoto ALC seem to be the popular choices for this. Of course there are cheaper options as well like the Fang Bo Carbon or Yinhe 05 Pro.

From there, if you want even more power, you might switch to a ZLC or outer fibre blade.

When you've improved enough to be consistent on both wings including in games. After a minimum of 3 years.

First "upgrade" your rubbers, then after a year or so, upgrade your blade with the same rubbers.
