just checked and compared an old sheet of mx-p and grip. mx-p is indeed porous but the pores in grip's sponge are a lot larger.

I would have to put them next to each other. I know when I looked at the MX-P I thought it was really porous. But I have only seen grip from the side and I thought the sponges looked pretty much like brothers or cousins. And since MX-P is harder, perhaps that is why the pores are smaller.

I am going to try to compare the pores of FX-P and Grip if I get a chance. That may be the right comparison. Or EL-P.
