I know some favor clipper type blades - thick 7 ply wood - for offensive SP Penhold play. Might work well SH too?

Sorry for the offtopic, but could you give us some impression on your Ross Leidy and why are you changing?

so its clippa huh..... ill do more research thanks
as to why im switching, the Ross leidy blade has a tad bit of flex that affects the trajectory of my FH Counter hit with sp
its a looper blade its all good and id stick with it if i was playing a spin based game.

Afaik back in the 38mm era SH SP players often used an Avalox P700. More recently Zhan Jian has been using a Clipper CR (like you, he only uses SP on FH.) YMMV, but these blades should all be rigid enough to allow for good control. I’d expect other rigid 7 ply Limba-Ayous blades to work well too.

I played short pips for a couple of years. Could not have been more pleased with my Clipper Classic.

Was just perfect for that style of play.

What about a Yinhe U1 or U3 (both 7 ply). Both supposed to be similar style to a clipper (not sure which model though) and according to a Yinhe description I found :
"Fine feel , it is the choice of the speed player . It is suitable for pips-out players ."

If a Primorac Carbon is your thing, Yinhe T2-s is supposed to be a same style of play, 3+2 Hinoki Outer, Quick and about 10g lighter than the U series clippers style

(Yes I like Yinhe, decent quality, excellent price).

you could of course go for the originals as recommended, but why pay more ?

For a modern clipper style blade tibhar samsonov force pro black edition is probably worth a look. Slower than original clipper but still very stiff: https://ttgearlab.com/2017/02/16/sa...edition-vs-some-7-ply-wood-blades-comparison/

(Also more affordable than clipper, but from Tibhar the quality should be at least as high.)
