Depending on the point of view, blades' wings have some effect
If we look purely by blade design, identical construction with different wings' profile somehow alter the blade characteristic itself. For example, viscaria vs tbs/tb alc. Which one is better? It is pretty subjective though.
For the user's point of view, from what I've seen around during clubbing sessions (yeah, call it clubbing, since I go to TT clubs to train, so why not call it 'clubbing') wider wings greatly favored by those who have bigger hands or longer finger, or someone who prefer loosely hold the blade, and have greater tendency to add spin more in their shots. Personally, blade with wider wings helps a lot to subconciously give some 'information' about blade angle during shots
